I knew this would turn into a trip down crisp memory lane but at least we all agree Walkers are average to poor.

Anyway I reckon crisp spotting for rare yet still available brands is a worthy past time. Often the most off piste newsagent is a treasure trove. If so post your rare findings here.

If you like rare finds of the crisp variety, then a trip to the newsagent in Dulwich Village will not disappoint. They sold ready salted Smith's Chipsticks not so long ago. Not seen them anywhere else in many years.

I also quite like Space Raiders, against Mr L's better judgement!

Also, not a fan of Walkers. OK with a sandwich, but they try to disguise themselves as a heritage brand when in fact, they've been part of PepsiCo for years, which pretty much wiped out Tudor and Smith's.

Louisa.

Dovertheroad - I was hoping the venerable HonaloochieB would come back to post on this thread to provide expert and humorous analysis of just how inferior Walkers crisps are

Was it quids who said Golden Wonder not as good as Walkers? Madness. (Shakes head).

GW FAR superior and still going strong in Scotland. Recently tried their haggis flavour - perfect. Mackies crisps also Scottish brought out a haggis & cracked black pepper flavour (rolls eyes). Nowhere near as good as GW plus everyone knows it's white pepper with haggis. Pickled onion & Worcestershire sauce are available too.

Interested to hear if Discos salt & VIOLENTKY vinegar are still around. There used to be EXTREME vinegar flavour in separate sachets but can't remember brand, anyway I digress.

OMG, can someone report whether they still do the ready salted chipsticks? If so I'll mke a special trip. I miss those things! Everywhere does the Salt & Vinigar, but they're just not the same.

No

Freaking

Way!!!

It just can't be.

That's the problem with these internet rumours. Once they're out there, someone is always going to accept them as truth, and in the future, some poor sap will believe that shit.

Even though I know the truth, I feel that my relationship with Monster Munch has been damaged, and I'll always have that shadow of doubt in the back of my mind.

This work has the hand of Putin written all over it. The Russkis are clearly trying to undermine the very fabric of our nation. They can take our lives, but they will never take our Monster Munch!...

Yep.

I also used a nik nak as a club for a mini Captain Caveman I once knocked up.

If you're going to believe that someone is really called Pamela Crump...I'm seeking counselling for crisp based confusion.

    • Anything that improves the front of the station has to be a good thing. Opening up the square in front is a superb idea, it will show the beauty of the architecture of the station, just as they did at Kings Cross when they ripped out the monstrosity of the 1960's frontage and now the station gleams. People probably go there to see the beauty of it. Now wouldn't it be good if once opened up and cleaned up, people visited to see how wonderful it then looks. I guess there is a generally lack of trust that the station square will open by the end of next year, HOWEVER, when the current frontage is removed and the square is opened up as it originally was it will look grand.
    • i) You must think Liebour can do no wrong, can lie through their teeth and yet you appear to believe every word Starmer and his stooges utter. ii) More assumptions made by you, well guess what you're utterly W R O N G, seems like that's your first trip, just as I predicted.  iii) and you won't be blaming me old man. Shockingly, I actually have to agree with some of the points you've raised.  Reform are the relics of BNP and UKIP, both detestable so add them together and you get an even worse result which is Reform that the UK can do without.
    • Farage has done nothing but divide and diminish this country, all in the name of his ego and his bank balance. Brexit has made us poorer and has damaged our influence in the world. He supported Trump who is directly threatening our interests and he supported Liz Truss' disastrous budget. He has done his best to ensure our country's decline and now people too proud to admit their mistakes and the deleterious impact of UKIP / The Brexit party / Reform Ltd are again voting for him to finish the job / nail down the coffin lid. Yes, he is a plastic patriot.
    • You clearly don’t know Peckham Rye station there are lifts but they’re not available to the public. Actually, they were  briefly made available when the art exhibition was on.  Priorites again.
