In the past I have been a benevolent Chair. I have allowed threads to divert from their original scope in oder to foster debate. I have allowed passionate rhetoric in order to nuture radical ideas. I have even tolerated bad language when done with panache.

But some people on here are testing my patience.

I will not tolerate any further personal insults nor persistent bickering. This is meant to be a wood-panelled Drawing Room for sophisticated debate whilst drinking brandy. Some of you seem to have over-indulged.

It is not the Oxford Union so stop behaving like students.

Blimey just read the Chairs warning....Hugenot , Loz , ???? you are one step away from oblivion. Unlike yourself i would hate to see you blown out of the forum after all these years. Like the chair said if your losing the argument just work harder to win it with out insulting. UDT has certainly had some very un-called for things thrown his/her way.

Now.....after Thursday the Lib Dems will be metaphorical mincemeat. Neville Chamberlain's the lot of em.

What did Tony say Education , Education , Education

And Clegg.....free banking shares for all !!!! well done Nick focus on the issues ???

I don't think you help your case with your disguised bickering after the warning was issued. Were you trying to undermine the Chair's warning?

The Chair has received no PMs from anyone on this matter. Undisputed Truth - you are lying. Stop it. It makes a further mockery of your name.

Obviously he was not lying just mistaken.......hope you are as quick to publicly put down , Mamora man, ????, Loz , Strafer, Hugenot, et all.

Sagatelsgouni: I have no doubt the Administrator will "put down" those that abuse the forum. However, I do not feel I have ever abused either the forum or forum contributors - so not sure why you raise my name?

Perhaps you have a problem with someone expressing support for right of centre policies and philosophy or critiquing some of your more facile postings?

I've always thought the Chair was different from Admin because - well, why have a different name

And the welcome to the drawing room bit has this from Feb 2010

"The Chair, as many of you know, is not a permanent position but on a short term appointment basis. As the current incumbent for the last few weeks I have tried to carry on the legacy of my predecessors. However, I am going to make a small change effective as of today"

I've pm'd Mark last week but the message remains unread. When I used 'report this message function' I thought at first they would go to the admin but after checking the Chair's message above I then concluded they would have gone to the Chair instead. Who is the current Chair?

I also like to make clear that I have no reason to lie and I feel there were attempts by a small minority to force me off the forum. I've met some great people in person during my short time on the forum and would like to extend my thanks to those who have supported me.

The Chair's identity is a closely guarded secret. A bit like a super-hero or a secret agent. Only much less cool.

If your error, UDT, was a genuine mistake then I apologise for accusing you of lying about sending me PMs.

There is no conspiracy to force you from the forum. The only reason you'd be banned or asked to leave is a persistent infringement of the rules.

I continue to encourage all posters to make their missives thoughtful and genuine additions to debates rather than snipes and sneers.

I also like to make clear that I have no reason to lie and I feel there were attempts by a small minority to force me off the forum

Yes your right UDT. Its the usual suspects who over excitedly took over a local forum, politicised it with James Barber , and are now attempting to turn it into their online version of Brussels. I notice Sagal has gone....and his crime? Maybe he upset the little prefects , Loz, ????, Mockney, Mamora et all - centre right, and liberal right, a clear coalition intent on ruining a public forum because they want to excercise control and censorship. Do they have the backbone to charge ? doubtful as they would be left in a little circle doing god knows what, just where they were before EDF was born !

So again are the liberals broken.....dust my friends, dust.

smashed to bits, like a empty clay pot dashed on a block of granite. They reflect only the utter lack of community within society, they pander to the loudest minority within the body of the people in order to cement their own party politics. They are more overt , more stripped and pornographic in their political machinations than any other party before them. Scum one and all.

Well this would seem to settle the "necessary? Or idealogical?" debate we had back then

Bonus points for delivering it at A F@@@ing Banquet!! as well

    • @beansprout The Swedes seem to have a useful strategy with regard to offenders  which has reduced repeat offending.  I agree that prison time for minor offences is a complete waste of time. Even worse is that prisons are "colleges of crime" where inmates learn about how to be do crimes and worst of all, become exposed to drug taking. I wouldn't advocate having chain gangs as in the USA but some strategy for getting them into say manual work under supervision might be useful - especially if it came with a modest wag. This would be significantly cheaper than the £51,100 it costs per year for  keeping one in jail.
    • I agree there are other options, but apart from cutting off bits of the body, which is probably not going to happen here, at least hopefully not in my lifetime, I wouldn't call them"stricter"! Unfortunately ultimately it may depend on what is cost effective in terms of implementation.
    • This year it was Pfizer. Last year was Moderna and I was quite  ill after it for the first time. I think last year was the only time I have had Moderna, but the illness may have been nothing to do with what kind of jab it was, I don't know. I have no idea whether everyone gets the same one in any particular year, but I'm sure someone else on here will know!
    • Thanks for posting this JMK we have had 3 children at Charter East so have been involved with the school from the very early days and have watched the impact of inconsistent, unsupportive and at worst unprofessional and biased management on them over the years. Individual teachers have at times been great and as JMK says it is the overall structure that creates a toxic and punitive atmosphere which directly impacts some families more than others and these are the kids overwhelmingly that have an SEN.  The experience of these families is night and day compared with the families with children that can cope in this system.
