Can't comment on the 70s, but disliked it from the early 90s onwards.

His wife was a bit of a model too......

Jah you were lucky then, she never took a shine to me. Remember her giving me nasty looks, and also me having a row with her husband when he served me a sausage roll from the chilled cabinet near the door, and refused to heat it for me for whatever reason. Mr L's friend was kicked out too for putting the landlord in his place a few times. Horrible bloody people. Crap beer selection too.

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
