Peckhamgatecrasher
Take a horse and ride with it under your thigh for about four hours. Should be tasty, cooked and tender.'It' being the bacon. Keef
You're being a bit cloak & dagger. Are we talking camping in the open air? Or cooking in a windowless underground cave?I still say desposable bbq, or possible small camping gas stove with a pan.If in an underground bunker, designed to live in after nuclear fall out, I'd go with the microwave... And can I come too if you know somthing we don't. HAL9000
LB - if Jeremy's hypothesis is correct - precook the bacon elsewhere in advance then just reheat it in a microwave as required. HAL9000
Why not try it before passing judgement? If it works, it should be a fairly simple solution to implement.Let the cooked bacon cool to room temperature to prevent the rashers from sticking together then stack them in an airtight container and store under refrigeration until required.Avoid touching the rashers with bare hands - use tongs - and they should stay fresh for a couple of days at least - but you'll need to confirm that with your food hygiene expert. Keef
There used to be these heat pouches, that you could put in a toaster. I knew a blind guy who literally used to use them to cook fish fingers. That might work... legalbeagle
Thanks Keef, something else I'll look into. And to answer the other question, we have looked into installing the extractor fan but there are planning and cost issues so I'm looking for another way.
