Crystal Tips
well not the allotmemts as such (the ones the other side of the South Circular from the Village up the hill that is) ....... rather leaving your stuff unattended on them. my friend left a few things in a bag by the side of her allotment while working on it today (err that is technically yesterday now) and the bag was nicked. This included her car keys and loh and behold she had to walk home on account of the tea leaves helping themselves to her car. Apparently it happened to someone else there late last week. chichirara
I had this happen on my allotment. Gun site on Grange Lane, but two years ago. A bunch of kids hahging around, so I thought I would be friendly instead of being anti young people. They distracted me, took my bag and raided my car, which I left unlocked. I knew where they went to school as they told me!. So reported it there. If your plot is on Grange Lane like mine, take care at lunch times Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1455-beware-the-allotments/#findComment-39504 Share on other sites
downsouth
You're talking about the Rosendale allotments. i've got my name down but have a few more years to wait :( In the meantime I will practice keeping by belongings safe as per all the council and police public information posters. I don't like to be told to hide my mobile phone (or Ipod if I had one). They are portable items of equipment meant to be used in public spaces. The posters imply that by using a mobile phone in public I am somehow responsible encouraging crime and criminals. This seems, as my Devon neighbours used to say, "Arsy versy".
