We usually get Sainsbury's on a Tues evening. I walked home from work this Tuesday and saw a brave Sainbury's delivery driver edging up Sydenham Hill in the snow - by the time I got home they phoned to say all their deliveries were cancelled. Walked to the Sainsbury's local the following morning and lugged back half a week's groceries on my back.
ocado cancelled yesterday's delivery due to the snow, but then the man actualy turned up only about an hour late. what a lovely guy. so maybe they will turn up as the delivery drivers seem pretty determined and the guy was put out that they were texting and emailing to cancel when he was still on his way. good luck x

I'm going to be loathed for this, but I got a leaflet in my letter box today advertising a local farm shop that delivers IN ALL WEATHERS (we're in the country nowadays and our snow is bad). They're coming tomorrow morning and their fayre includes chocolate cake! two fingers to you woosy supermarkets!

My gripe du jour is how irritating it is to breastfeed through layers and layers of clothes.... I can't even find my boobs nowadays!

Oh my goodness - have HUGE Christmas delivery due on Tuesday (catering for 9 on the big day, and 7 on Christmas Eve).

I hope they turn up, otherwise I am going to be doing an emergency dash at some unlikely hour when hopefully the supermarket isn't too packed.

Those who use Ocado, have you seen they are offering their annual delivery pass for about ?40 at the moment (?70 off the normal price)....free delivery all year once signed up - wooo hoo....

    • Ah sorry, it was comedy.
    • I have never used AI in my life. It's just notes from my forthcoming monograph on light industry in Dulwich and Camberwell 1879-1946 (dates chosen for obvious reasons).
    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
