I swear by the free TMS White Noise app on the iPhone - it literally puts my little one to sleep in minutes.

I know that there is a Mumsnet app which launched last week http://itunes.apple.com/app/babies-the-mumsnet-guide/id406970322?mt=8 but wondered if people had found any other apps that kept babies amused etc. Sure that there must be good ones with patterns, sounds and music etc.

Of course there is always the issue of baby trying to eat the iPhone rather than look at it but I live in hope!

Mine used to do that snowboarder until she learnt that meant no more game. She still does to some extent though if she's in a particularly short attention mood when she will request one game ('numbers mummy!') then 10 seconds later say 'no, cows!' I've also had to accept that sometimes she deletes apps accidentally by getting into wiggle mode but luckily have generally been backed up.

    • The current crimes from what I hear are phone theft from the person, car theft and tradesman vehicle/tools theft. Plus of course the overall increase in stabbings and shootings across London which are becoming normalised.
    • Whilst clearly 'a crime', I don't think this necessarily sits with the other things you have described. A tragic and awful incident certainly, and dreadfully traumatic to the victim, but not part of any 'crime wave' as such, I suspect. It's the sort of thing which, sadly, can happen anywhere (I, again, suspect).
    • Does anybody have a folding pasting table they no longer need? All the ones I've found online seem to have terrible reviews, mainly due to being unstable,  or else coming apart! I don't mind if it's grubby, I just want it to gesso wallpaper lining paper, for art not walls!
    • Massive thank you to Stephen. Painted our whole house - and got lots of other bits sorted, too. Nothing was too much trouble, everything looks great and all came in on quote. Fantastic. Liverpool fan, but don’t hold that against him. Will 100% use again.
