Donating toys for Xmas

Are there any organisations around ED that collect donations of food, toys etc for any of our less fortunate neighbours at Xmas? If so, please can you let us know the details.

It's too late for this year but earlier in December, Refuge had a 'Gift List' open at John Lewis where people could buy toys etc for the kids/abused mothers who will spend Christmas in a refuge. But I think the closing date was 13 December to give them time to organise distribution to the various shelters. Obviously there's no guarantee of it ending up somewhere 'local' either.

Pommie, respect, I don't have anything to give this year but please let me know for next year.

I have a lot of time fot the Sally Army, and my OH used to play tambour in it - all his rellies were members (sorry if that's not the correct term)

they are always looking for donations throughout the year too as they either sell them at their charity shop or give to people who are struggling any time of the year.

The hostel place next to the church at the top of Barry Road accepts presents which they distribute to their residents, who I believe are mainly immigrants and asylum seekers (apologies if that's an inaccurate description, no offence intended). You can drop them off at the office.

I donate every year to the Salvation Army. We have just moved into the area from Worthing, They do good works
