gufflings
I've searched high and low for this in East Dulwich. Anyone know a local stockist? They only have the adults' version in Lloyds. Some of the chemists had never even heard of it... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15101-anbesol/ Share on other sites
Gussy
Have you tried either Boots or Superdrug in Peckham? I haven't actually bought any from these stores, but I did buy it from a Superdrug about a year ago, so I know they did stock it. It's normally be behind the counter so you need to ask for it. Hope that helps, sorry its not directly in ED... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15101-anbesol/#findComment-397864 Share on other sites
Knomester
As far as I know there isn't a child version is there? The one I have says suitable for all ages... I bought it at the Day Lewis chemist on Forest Hill Road. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15101-anbesol/#findComment-397867 Share on other sites
The Nappy Lady
I get it from Krystal pharmacy in Nunhead. A lot of chemist think you can use it on children - tell them to check the instructions! Think it's the same one for adults & children.Xx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15101-anbesol/#findComment-397884 Share on other sites
Fuschia
There certainly usd to be a teething gel... the adult strength anbesol says not suitable for childrenhttp://www.oneclickpharmacy.co.uk/medicines-tooth,-gum-&-mouth-mouth-ulcers-anbesol-adult-strength-p-2252.htmlhttp://www.oneclickpharmacy.co.uk/medicines-infant-&-baby-teething-aids-anbesol-teething-p-2067.html Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15101-anbesol/#findComment-397889 Share on other sites
anna_r
When I told the pharmacist I wanted it for my 2 year old they wouldn't sell it to me, even though the instructions inside say it can be used on children. Instead they told me to try teething powders, as if i hadnt already tried everything else for 2 year molar hell. So I sent my husband out to get it and tell them it was for his mouth ulcer. gufflings
Thanks, folks!Did a Google images search and there does seem to be a baby version. The version I found today in Lloyds said specifically on the packaging that it was for adults, so I thought I'd better not risk it.Will have a look in Superdrug/Boots tomorrow as need to pop that way anyway. melbourne groover
Try the co-op pharmacy, they usually have it. It is the one with a pic of a baby on it I think. Fuschia
I seem to recall there was a warning out about the adult version... maybe some substance similar to aspirin? The Nappy Lady
The one I use is in a White box with blue & green print IIRC. It's a liquid but def. Says you can use on babies/toddlers in instructions - 1 dab on finger & rub on the sore patch.I've used for both mine & swear by it. The Nappy Lady
Just to add - it is a non systemic topical pain killer, so you can use it alongside Calpol or Calprofen type meds if baby is really suffering.
