Yes I spotetd that in your other post. Pretty neat stuff.

Interfaces are the lost art of programming sadly.

Too many people think they know what they're doing, and in my experience almost none actually do.

In fact interface design should generally be kept away from programmers altogether and left to the psychologists and artists to work out, and let the coders implement them.

Gah, my X-box hard drive died last week. Instead of paying Microsoft to repair it I'm toying with the idea of forking out for a 360.

What puts me off though, is the limited number of games from the original xbox that can be played on the 360. I thought that this would be a given for all games. Not that I need a massive amount of encouragement.

Edit: Rolo Tomasi, I've sent you a PM about the event you have mentioned.

Yeah, it's pretty comprehensive these days. Go on horsebox, you know it makes sense..join the clan!!

I've just noticed Ninja Gaiden is on there. Right, I'm finally going to finish that!!!

I once "met" this couple on WoW who played together (quiet at the back) and teamed up with them a couple of times.

They'd met on WoW, but both lived in manchester and were seeing each other in RL.

The frightening thing was both were divorced and both had met their previous spouses on other online games. The girl on Counterstrike and the lad on Diablo.

I didn't hold out much hope for them.

found this on the THIRD page - shocking...

Anyway, SMG seems to be getting the love that was anticipated - however without a Wii (and unlikely to get one this year) I'll not get the chance to play it - anyone else had a go yet?

I've reached the final level on Halo3 (on Heroic) and am waiting for the right moment to finish the whole thing - I'm firmly in the Halo 1 was fantastic, Halo 2 was bobbins camp and was expecting only marginal improvements in Halo 3 but if anything it has surpassed 1 for me....

Agreed. Single player campaign has been a lot of fun and am about to approach legendary; well I already have and got my arse whupped. Am getting my mate Rich (you met him at Rhythms of the world) involved in some co-op if you fancy it.

Mind you, I can never get past puzzle quest these days ... grrrrrr.

I keep forgetting you can do 4 player co-op... another feather in it's cap

Definitely up for that but will need to book the time...

I will try on Legendary as well but I'm not sure I have the patience to deal with that many snipers - will be good to play against the covenant again after so much of The Flood

From Gamespot interview with developers

"GS: How are you balancing the four-player gameplay? Will the difficulty scale increase with the number of players in a co-op game?

FO: We've actually included a whole layer of ways to make co-op more challenging. But the first and most important step for players is to forget that easy and normal even exist. If you have any chutzpa at all, you might as well forget heroic while you're at it. Real men (and ladies) play co-op on legendary."

So not only is Rock Band released (not just guitars - oh no. Now you and some friends can play drums, guitar and sing all at the same time) but they have released a Bowie pack

Only thing is, classic track Queen Bitch is now called Queen *****

I mean I ask you...... if you are worried about it, pick another song but... sheesh

    • Not fair on the patients or the consultants, either.
    • These very anti social fireworks went on for at least fifteen years and were unbearable for both humans and pets.    Was extremely relieved that they moved a couple of years ago.  Never experienced such close proximity loud fireworks before.   But the ones that go off in the middle of the night are also very upsetting and annoying.
    • Not they've gone. Everything has been ripped out. No sign of anyone new yet.
    • The frequency of fireworks seems to be increasing. If revellers selected the low noise variety that would help, but the trend seems to be the louder the better. I do not think sensitivity to stimuli is the same as timidity. Unexpected, extremely loud bangs and unusual noises will startle most of us. Humans, unlike other animals, have the luxury of knowing what fireworks are and what the noise represents. Some animals do learn to cope but many do not. It could be their hearing is not as sensitive. We should not forget that many animals, including cats and dogs have hearing that is much more developed than ours.
