I'm quite enjoying Beat Sneak Bandit on the iPad at the moment.

Trails Evolution.

My oh my it's good. Anyone who has HD simply has to go for it. The skill games a better, the tracks are very creative, I'm sure we'll all be trying for he one puma ship, but genuine multiplayer has been introduced too.

All told, bloody marvellous.

Yeah, I'm on the third set of levels and it's still very forgiving.

I'm laying down a couple of markers for you all to enjoy.

Oh, and the icarus skill game, launch yourself off your bike and flap your arms with two planks tied to them to see how far you can fly. Brilliant (and yet to get gold on that).

They've even bizarre mini game like marble madness on it.

I'm not much of a gamer these days. Having kids seems to have scuppered that, but I do run a nerdy website http://www.theunheardnerd.com and I'm looking for someone who's up to date with what's going on in the gaming world to write regular round-ups.

What's coming soon, the odd preview or thoughts on existing games as well as revisiting classics.

These could be weekly, fortnightly or monthly. Whatever suits really. There is NO pay for this, it would purely be for the love of it and I'd try to throw in the occasional benefit.

The site is still in it's first year but receives a decent amount of hits a day/month with that figure increasing steadily.

Dust: An Elysian Trail, I guess if you look at this thread then it'll be familiar, but my experience so far backs up the great reviews.

The Home for the PC (2 quid on steam). Sort of an 8-Bit cross between Dear Esther and Alone in the Dark, game mechanics not a challenge but I loved the way your traditional gaming expectations are turned on their head.

And to add to Dust... great script and acting, how unusual is that in a game, not to mention it likes to poke fun at game mechanic conventions (my sprite has just questioned how I managed to put a sheep in my inventory for one)

Hmm, I agree totally that Zelda games do kind of guide you on your journey so you can't really get lost. He is a bit harsh about Ocarina of Time though. When that game came out, it was feckin amazing compared to anything we'd ever seen to that point!

But yes, a fully open world Zelda game would be a wonderful thing!

Pleased he said that, "Adventure of Link" was one of my favourite games. I played it recently on my phone, and it's still great! The original didn't have villages and people to talk to, which for me made AOL so charming.

In other news already finding corners of the day to plough into the timesink that is Baldurs Gate.

By freeing it from the PC and actually allowing you to play it on the toilet I might actually manage to finish it this time.

Mind you sorting out the gazillion bugs would be nice of the developers; stabbing at a door entrance or stair case 63 times in a vain attempt to find the random sweet spot is very annoying.

I have loads of partially played games, I haven't when played a game for months.

L.A. Noir - maybe a 3rd through.

Alice, Madness Returns - Barely Started

Skyrim - Played about 2 hours, scared to get too drawn in!

And there are others, so I just don't buy games now.. Although I think Mrs Otta has got me the one where you play real guitar, so that should be fun.

Next year is going to have to be very frugal so as to pay off stuff, so hoping to jump back in to games.

very much enjoying Dishonored on PC (though out for the usual consoles), its half price on steam though.

It has something of the Bioshock about it, a healthy dash of half life but owes its greatrest debt to the Thief series.

Good looking, sneaky and absurdly violent should you feel the need to dispense with all that sneaking around, it makes for a satisfying game with some nice humourous details dotted around the steampunk aesthetic, check out the 'vi*gra' advert for Mr Smithwick's Elixir (or somesuch).
