I so want to have a drink in that pub on Dishonored as well

A very good game with amazing attention to detail. Just checking out the world is fun

I love how they ran out of time/space to complete third floor of the pub but instead of just removing it you can glimpse it through a boarded up partition

I have never ever ever had to spend 15 hours on a single boss before

But I have now

Finally felled the pair of absolute f***ers

There was whooping

There was cheering

There was a lap around the room

All pales into insignificance compared to the hours of swearing, controller-abuse and near-tears

"what game are we talking about?"

some one I've been playing (and banging on about) for over a year now - Dark Souls

I've beaten these guys several times on normal, but this was a New Game+ harder run and was doing fine until then

Otta - spot on. I swear that Stockholme Syndrome set in and I didn't actually want to beat them in the end

But as it happened, the last attempt took maybe 3 minutes

can't access youtube at work but a google search gave me some links so hopefully this works

If any of you have any desire to play a bit of guitar, you could do worse than getting rocksmith, and buying any cheapo electric guitar from Argos (it's not like the guitar's natural sustain and tone matter when you're playing through an xbox).

It will be miles more satisfying than playing a plastic guitar with buttons on, and it's a good way to get you riffing quickly.

finished Dishonored. Genuinely brilliant, it's been a while since I've enjoyed a game that much.

Started playing Amnesia: the Dark Descent as intended, dark room and headphones.

Can't play it for more than about ten minutes without needing to go have a nice cup of tea and look at cuddly things. Really quite unsettling!!!

I'm not sure I'm really enjoying the experience though.

To quote the linked review

"Amnesia: The Dark Descent is to date, the only game that has ever scared me. Not scared as in a short burst of shock, but in a heart-pounding, sweat-inducing, I-need-to-stop-playing-so-I-can-calm-down kind of scared"

Ooh look, even yahtzee quite liked it

Thanks, I downloaded it last night and had a little go on it. Unfortunately my laptops gone tortoiselike recently so there was an annoying lag whenever I turned around or moved forward through the forest which kinda ruined it a little for me. Certainly atmospheric and I must admit I did give out a little yelp of terror when the slender man turned up for the first time.

Really enjoying the new Tomb Raider, they've managed to capture the atmosphere of the original games whilst fixing the crappy camera and bollox jumping mechanics. Thoroughly entertaining and a welcome return to form for Ms.Croft. Thumbs up to Square & Crystal Dynamics.

Will get it when tit* drops to twenty quid I reckon.

Has anyone played Super Hexagon on iOS/Android? Ludicrously hard, reminds you that games were difficult growing up, not just pretty things that hold your hand. I have yet to make it to level 2 (ie survived for ten seconds)

*genuine mistake I kid you not!!!

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
