I was surprised by how much I didn't get on with Skyrim.

I know I've said it all before but I played Oblivion to death, and objectively Skyrim improves on pretty much everything in that game. But it leaves me cold

Having finished the Other Big Games I have returned to it a few times and just float around for a bit. Literally. That's one of my problems with the elder Scrolls games is how floaty everything is. Combat especially

I know it sounds like I'm trying to poo poo other people's opinion of the game and I'm really not. It's just surprising to me how much my tastes have changed between Oblivion game and Skyrim

I've said before, I kind of feel the same, but I don't think I've given Skyrim enough time to really draw me in.

Thing is, Oblivion had that wow factor, when you saw just how big it was, and how great the world looked. Skyrim has improved on that, but you expect it, so it doesn't bowl you over like Oblivion did.

Dragons are always a point scorer though.

I did pretty much everything in Oblivion, and some DLC, but haven't even started the shimmering isles, so could even still go back to that one day...

I am playing GTA V and am about half way through. Way more playable than 4 with brilliant missions. Love having three characters to play. Only drawback is that I can only play when there are no kids about becuase of the language and frequent use of N word!

I'm playing it as well. Really enjoying it. I get some strange looks from Mrs. Onion for the language, or just bursting out laughing at some of the dialogue. Some of the commentary is very entertaining.

I've played a bit of the online. A bit of a grind in some way, but so many things you can do. Overall though it seems to have lost a bit of the chaos of multiplayer on 4.

I've not gotten round to exploring yet, but plan on a hike up the mountain at some point. Gameplay time is very limited due to kids though, and by the time they're in bed I often don't even have the energy / motivation left to turn on a game console, I just sit there staring blankly at the telly.

Recommendations wanted.

Mrs Otta has said she might like to get herself a game for the xbox, but I don't know what to recommend because I'm not in to her kind of thang. Basically she really liked Pikmin on the old Nintendo, and she probably likes the likes of Sim City.

Anyone got any recommendations for games like that? I thought about Sims 3, but not sure she'd dig that.

The judge granted a pause of at least 14 days so the man, who is not being named for legal reasons and arrived in the UK on a small boat last month, could provide evidence of his claim that he has been a victim of modern day slavery." from BBC website
    • what sort of bike are you looking for - men's , ladies, size. commuter, mountain or racer etc etc. And what is your budget?
    • Is  the  decision by the High Court not to  deport an Eritrean man  to France on Wednesday anything other than a massive boost for Farage and reform. Farage has made a commitment for the UK to exit the ECHR which limits the independence of our justice system The UK Government’s “one in, one out” has failed at the first hurdle - just as the Rwanda scheme did under the Tories. To make it even more embarrassing is that the accommodation for deportees   in Rwanda paid for by the UK is now being used by the USA for its deportees. If we are to have Farage thrust upon us as a result of such judicial decisions, then God help us.
    • I recently hired Andy to paint the newly plastered walls in my front room, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the start, he offered a fair and reasonable price for the work, and his professionalism really stood out. Andy has a wealth of experience and was happy to share suggestions about colour choices and paint types, which made the decision-making process much easier. He completed the work within the agreed timescale, and I am very happy with the finish.  What impressed me most is that Andy went above and beyond what I initially asked. He not only painted the room beautifully but also helped with extra tasks such as putting up the wall bracket, curtain poles, and curtains, and even gave me a hand moving furniture between rooms. That level of support is rare and very much appreciated. If you’re looking for a painter and decorator who is reliable, trustworthy, reasonably priced, experienced, and willing to go the extra mile to help, I would highly recommend Andy.
