rendelharris
Off to hospital this afternoon to see a friend's child who's been taken in with suspected appendicitis. Haven't time to get to a bookshop, obviously sweets not appropriate; I'm a bit out of touch with these things, could anyone suggest magazines (preferably stocked by DKH Sainsbury's as passing it on the way) that would be a hit with a bright, literate six-year-old girl? Any tips gratefully received! Thanks,Rendel Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/153321-childrens-magazine-advice/ Share on other sites
mima08
The various lego magazine versions should be fun, most magazines for that age are full of tat, but kids love it and it hopefully keeps her entertained a little... robbin
National Geographic Kids, perhaps. Games, quizzes, cool pictures of animals etc. Or any of the children's cartoon/TV programme characters with 'free' tat stuck to the front cover. They love that too. rendelharris
Many thanks for all the suggestions, they sound great - I can see I shall have to spoil this child long after she's cured! Otherwise you could duplicate something she has already been given? Thanks again for all the kind suggestions, much appreciated. lightweight
Beano magazine is great and easy to find at newsagents or supermarkets. Junior Week is good, usually only stocked in WHSmith, not local newsagents.
