angiepangie
Hi thereOur office is planning a team day and people have decided they want to go to a pub which has a country pub vibe and old style games (not just darts and billiard but these old-fashioned things were you have to get wodden balls into holes and these kind - not that I know as so far I have not seen any of these mysterious games). Now each employee has to make two suggestions and although I have been searching the web most places require too much travel (more than 1hour from Central London)or do not have any reviews.Since this forum is such a wide pool of information I was hoping that some of you might know of a pub in or around London which you could recommend? Any suggestions welcome! :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15346-advice-needed-country-pub-with-games-room/ Share on other sites
david_carnell
Try East Sussex in the towns and villages in and around Lewes. It's pretty traditional drinking thatway and you might find what you're after but it's a BIG ask within 1 hour of London. Jeremy
I would suggest finding a nice pub with a private room, book it, and bring your own games... skittles, quoits, etc. If they already have darts and pool/billiards, then you're sorted. Townleygreen
The Dog (aka Crown & Greyhound) has at least one upstairs room you can hire, with its own bar too. Only to find its been turned into a bloody gastro pub. NOOOOOooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Peckhamgatecrasher
Ditto the Ship Inn at Conyer. Many misspent evenings there now it's a bleeding gastro pub. felt-tip
I sometimes go walking around Otford & Eynsford and there are loads of country pubs around there. not sure if any have games rooms but sure www.beerintheevening.com can guide you. Its under an hour from London Bridge (can jump off at Denmark Hill on way back too) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15346-advice-needed-country-pub-with-games-room/#findComment-402458 Share on other sites
