If you're near the Bellenden Road area, Village Grocer has a fairly decent range in the ?6-12 bracket. The General Store does some lovely wines, but they're much pricier. Flock and Herd does a good little selection including a very reliable Rioja and a nice Rose. Or yes, the short five min walk to Lordship Lane is the way forward

sorry.... "towns"?

Talk about pretentious.

It's literally up the road. Unless there is another reason for trying to distance the two?

Perhaps in the town of ED, one expects everyting to be in one place, in a shops specifically just for that one thing.

Cheese shop (tick), wine shop (tick), yoga outfits shop (tick) ....

Imagine having to go to Town Peckham and have to be imaginitive.

Hi Killick

Sorry I can't personally help you but talk about 'Ask a simple question. ?'

Foxy

Also I realize it may be possible to walk from Peckham to East Dulwich in 5 minutes if you are power walking with your pram, but at a normal person pace the walk is hardly worth it if you just want to grab something to have with dinner.

Lesson learned, if I ask a question again it will be regarding dog fouling or fly tipping or whatever else the insufferable bores with nothing better to do bang on about in here.

Fly tipping is for neophytes - it's cow tipping or nothing in these here parts*.

*Done in a gentle caring way of course and with a nod to turnip tipping for the bovinely squeamish - that's the EDF way.

    • Mal, it is related to this issue and if you scroll back a few pages you will see that Brockwell was brought up in relation to this (not by me I hasten to add). Do you not think it seems perfectly reasonable for people to be able to reference a neighbouring event - one that is having a number of challenges not too dissimilar to the ones Gala is having?     These sentences from the BrixtonBuzz article I linked seem very pertinent too:  The concern, they argue, is not just about permits, but about the Council’s repeated failure to follow proper planning processes and its habit of acting in the interests of commercial promoters rather than the local community.   And this: The group is now calling on residents to write to their local MP and councillors, accusing the Council of using legal mechanisms to avoid scrutiny.
    • Mal, like it or not, it does have some bearing on other councils. There was an item about it on Times Radio on Sunday - Kate Borsay, a presenter who lives locally, referenced Peckham Rye in relation to the Brockwell case. As the reporter pointed out, local councils will all be talking to each other and closely following how things unfold. If a precedent is set with Brockwell, other councils will be under greater scrutiny.
    • Why don't you start a new thread about Brockwell Park?  I promise that I won't post on it.
    • 🤣 at the puns. Seriously though, thank you for not assuming he must be lost just because he followed you a long way. Thank you for posting on here rather than  taking him back to your house!
