6 year wait for a stall on the market!

Had a stroll along the market today and happened to bump into the market trader guy. I asked him how you went about having a stall there and he answered to apply via the coucil website but warned me of a 6 YEAR WAITING LIST!

He said there were rough plans to extend the market quite considerably and maybe even pedestrianise the road to allow for the expansion. I am just starting off my company of my own handmade, unusual coffee tables, mirrors etc and thought a stall would be a great testing ground to show some pieces.

you could try the monthly farmer's market at Dulwich College .. they have a craft bit too

Sounds like it's time for Southwark Council to increase the pitch charges to bring supply and demand back into equilibrium.

Would be nice to see the market extended up to Barry Rd and possibly a welcome boost to some of the businesses in Upland Rd.

Lozzyloz, I agree with you. That bit of Upland after you cross Barry is really sad. I bet it was quite nice at one point. Nero
