Hi, I just wondered if anyone was already organising a collection of clothes, bedding, toys etc for the residents of Grenfell Tower who have escaped the terrible fire. I have things I'd like to donate but I can't get over to any of the collection points in West London. It would be great if we could organise something.

i'm in.... i can donate stuff but unfortunately don't have transport.

Update....

Luckily a friend of mine went up to that side of town & was able to collect stuff from me.

I was able to fill up his car with a few blow up beds, toiletries, clothes, shoes, food, bedding etc

He's struggling to get around in the area as most roads are closed.... But we are hoping he'll soon find people to give the stuff to.

There are quite a few fundraising sites for residents of Grenfell Tower...

Also, the Red Cross attend many disaster areas, this one included, if anyone wants to donate to them.

In addition to clothes/food etc (which @RBKC is saying hold back on for now, they are inundated)? I bet the displaced need phones / computers? need some way to get online to get information and get in contact with family.

I know nothing about technology? do people think donations of old-but-working phones be helpful??

Though there may not be one in August, as many people will be away  Also, depending what you are into, there is a Singaround upstairs at The Castle in Crystal Palace Road on the second Sunday of the month. Listeners are welcome too! It's all ages and any genre of song (though it depends who comes on any particular evening). More info from https://www.thegooseisout.com/faq or PM me.
