Fish and Chips - we miss Seacow

I once went to a lovely chippy in West Lothian, and had a black pudding supper with salt and ?sauce? - a sort of runny brown sauce. It was bloody lovely. With a can of Irn Bru of course!

Seabag I?ve had enough of this. There?s nothing wrong with people eating what they like. You know me, I?m not one to judge when it comes to people making decisions about food. However, there are limits. How anyone could be poncy enough to mix a pub classic like lasagne with oven chips I will never know. Never heard of the like.

There?s a very specific chip too, get it wrong and oh heck are we in Wrong Town. It has to be a thin crispy salty and very fresh/hot straight out of the fryer Mc Cain type chip. Nothing but N O T H I N G else will do. No chunky, sweaty, wrapped, or a little bit floppy spud finger like ?chiuuups? are to placed beside the hallowed ?sarnia?.

Salad or ?salit? is allowable, but with salad cream and white pepper only.

The Oak Cafe in Honour Oak will serve this holy trinity in the appropriate manner. Being Cypriot he?s up to speed on such things. He does alf & alf with chicken curry too.

Perhaps you?re too distracted by the multitude of pizzas of different sizes to notice that chips is offered as an add on to lasagne at your beloved Wetherspoons

Or perhaps you?ve just got this weird thing about saying ridiculous things to be provocative in a weirdly inconsistent manner

Actually pk, I think you?ll find Wetherspoons offer chips as a side to most of their main menu dishes, if not all of them. Nothing weird about that. However, there are limits when it comes to mixing certain things. Personally, I am not a big fan of chips unless they come with ham and eggs, or fish. Call me old fashioned. That?s just how I roll. I don?t understand why you would want to mix carbs with carbs, it just seems strange.

I would always ask to swap my salad for chips when getting lasagne in Wetherspoons. This must have been quite a popular request, as they then changed the menu to charge extra for the chips if you wanted to add them to the lasagne. I havent noticed this 'add chips' option on any other meals. Lots of the meals automatically come with chips granted, but this is quite a unique option to the lasagne.

You'd get a much better slab of lasagne at a greasy spoon cafe than wetherspoons, and they wouldnt charge extra for the chips.
