Scribe
Hello, to whom it may concern. I've got a problem with my account, but something (software glitch?) is preventing me from posting a query in the "about" sub-forum.Thanks in advance. SeanMacGabhann
type a one word post in the "about section" - just a neutral word like... well "neutral" would dodoes that post ok? If it does then there isn't anything wrong with your account - the problem is likely to be a combination of letters which amount to a swearword in the database filters - "specialist" caused problems for a while because of thisIf you can't even post "neutral" as a post tehn there is a problem with your account and mere moderators can't help - PM Administrator and see what he comes back with Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15917-could-a-moderator-please-get-in-touch-ive-got-a-problem-with-my-account/#findComment-413276 Share on other sites
Scribe
Thanks for the info, but I can't type anything into the about section as there's a box at the foot of each thread telling me: "Sorry, you do not have permission to post/reply in this forum."It's exactly the same case in the ED issues section. But thanks, I'll get in touch with the administrator. huncamunca
Its called an EDF ASBO - your access is curtailed cos of naughty behaviour - have you criticised certain shops on LL recently for example ? Scribe
I can't think of anything that I've done to incur an "EDF ASBO". I haven't swore or criticised a business in the ED issues section, or any section for that matter. Although my last comment, on a thread about a Blackberry being handed-in to the security guard at Somerfield has been removed, but I can't think why. SeanMacGabhann
Quote ooh I can answer that - it's because what you actually posted implied that guard was on the make and fencing the BB in question. But pretending poor ickle you made an innocent posting only to have it removed is familiar territory isn't it?Another reason someone might not be allowed to post in some sections is that perhaps Admin has you figured for a previous poster what has being been banned many a time and is suspicious. perhaps you could allay those fears? Scribe
I have to admit that I'm rather taken aback by the innocuous direction this thread has taken, from what I regard was an innocent request on my part. Not to mention accusatory from one quarter. Quote Yes, I did suggest that the security guard at Somerfield may have pocketed said Blackberry. But is that so unrealistic an outcome? And where did "poor ickle" me pretend, or otherwise, that I'd posted an "innocent posting"? I didn't. I submitted what I thought was a reasonable comment. And this reaction seems rather heavy-handed seeing as a user has posted a thread in which he or she claims that they want to drown the royal family. But that post, compared to what I submitted, seems far more inflammatory, not to mention threatening, than suggesting what could turn-out to be the case i.e - the blackberry was pocketed by the security guard. I mean, do you have any evidence that proves otherwise? Quote Then I suggest, unless it is you that suspects me, for whatever reason, of being "a previous poster what has being been banned many a time", that you leave whoever may have cause for suspicion to voice their concern themselves. Quote Thanks for replying, and let's hope these "issues" are resolved in due course. Although you could've just responded to the private email I sent you. Anyway, thanks again. karter
Sorry perhaps that question should be in About section. What qualifies a ban to be lifted though? For the public. Administrator Administrator Posted February 21, 2011 Administrator Share Posted February 21, 2011 Scribe, I am concerned that you are a poster who was previously banned. Please note your 'private email' was sent after you posted this thread, I answered your first message.Karter, there are different reasons for a ban and therefore different reasons for lifting a ban. If you are asking about a particular user please PM me although I may not be able to disclose information about individuals. Administrator Administrator Posted February 22, 2011 Administrator Share Posted February 22, 2011 You can add regalia to that list. As mentioned in an email to you, there is ongoing legal action because of comments made on the forum, we want to distance ourselves from that type of behaviour. Loz
Blimey. Forum member or the forum itself being sued? Administrator Administrator Posted February 22, 2011 Administrator Share Posted February 22, 2011 I did say "legal action" not "sued", and at present it's not the forum but we have to be careful and take appropriate action when necessary.
