Very interesting to read this post and they could be right as I noted the following,

In a licensed taxi or licensed hire car, if a child restraint is not available then the child may travel unrestrained in the rear. This is the only exception for children under 3, and has been introduced for practical rather than safety reasons. You should always think about ways to make sure that a child seat is available.

Sourced from this website: http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/law/

You could always contact ROSPA for confirmation of this rule.

Good luck!

Yes, I looked into this too. It is indeed true.

There have been a couple of situations where we took a taxi with Little Saff just belted into the middle back seat as best we could. Little Saff is very tall for a toddler, so it was ok. Not ideal, but it was alright for a short low-speed journey. (Not in a hurry to get caught in this situation again though!)

My backup plan is calling an ambulance, I have considered walking to hospital (if I go to hospital that is), will definitely speed up the labour process.

Taxis are exempt, which I used to think was silly, until I got stuck in the city with my daughter and only simple way to get home was getting a taxi.

    • Is anyone else having difficulty booking Silver Swim sessions (Tuesday and Thursday between 3pm-4pm?) Almost all the spaces are taken before the online booking system opens at 10pm several days before. Last night there appeared to be one space available for next Tuesday. I tried to book at one second past 10pm but was unsuccessful. This seems to have been a recent phenomenon. I made a telephone call this morning but just received a recorded message saying that the voicemail box was full. Am I right in assuming that in person bookings are now taking precedence over online ones?
    • I completely agree with you, Angelina. But it's worth noting that no one else has a problem with her, or finds her rude /  has mentioned her aggressively banging gates / ringing doorbells etc.
    • But I don't think that was what you meant, was it? But he can hardly be held responsible for what somebody else did! Just discovered I forgot to post the above  last night, and now it's overtaken by long posts.  I don't have sufficient knowledge  to counter some of what has been said above, some of which appears to be opinion rather than facts, so it would be pointless for me to say anything else.
    • I am sure our lovely Evri delivery team, who do a firkin hard job, take the time between drops to read the East Dulwich Forum 🤫
