Just to say that I went along to the positive birth movement meeting in Peckham today and it was really great - women sharing their previous experiences and/or future desires for their births and sharing advice and stories that might help and inform mums approaching birth! It will take place once a month, I think, and I would really recommend it for anyone, whatever sort of birth you are planning - from cesarean to water-birth - to help and inspire you to hopefully achieve a positive birth experience.

Whatsapp or facebook group sounds good to me too.

Hi,

I am due my second in mid December. So pleased to see this group! I don't know anyone expecting a baby and would love to meet some other expectant mums. My first is 4 and we have recently moved to the area.

End October meet up sounds great,

Sounds good. If everyone is happy with Cherrytree I might get us some space there. Are you up for some dinner or just drinks - non-alcoholic drinking is not fun - I know.

I think WhatsApp group might be good to confirm numbers. So if everyone is happy sending me their numbers via pm, that would be fantastic. I already received a few and thanks for doing so.

Will be in touch via WhatsApp.

Apologies for the intrusion, if anyone is considering a homebirth I am selling my birthpool, its listed in the family room classifieds. It has seen three successful water births but is good as new! Let me know if anyone's interested and I can give you more details.

Hi all,

I am due with my second on 23 Feb so would love to meet local mums! Whatsapp usually works well for arranging get togethers from my previous EDF baby group :)

Thank you for organising Nevaroma... my number is 07969912873

Hope everyone is feeling ok and out of the first trimester in good healthy :)

Hi, I just moved to the area (from the States) and I'm expecting my second baby on Jan 9 (my son is 3). A mum in my pregnancy yoga class suggested I look into the winter babies group so I can meet some other mums. Please add me to any communication or meet ups please! Thanks, Lindsay 07502 165304 [email protected]

    • Yes but what's the answer, Jazzer? No government can simply walk in and fix the economy - get the bills down, grow it and reduce debt. There is no silver bullet. The public (and the press) wants everything now, everything cheaper, but with better public services and lower taxes.  In the radio and paper, all you ever hear is pundits, MPs, think tanks and economists saying what won't work, but no one seems to know what will work.  I'm genuinely interested to hear what other views people have on here, and what they think will help, or make things worse.
    • While they struggle with economics of UK plc, collectively we all suffer as a result of their ineptitude.
    • I’ve tried to find details of surgeries being held before but not found any. The section of the Southwark website that details councillors’ surgeries says that: Your locally elected Councillors will be holding a roving surgery programme in the Dulwich Hill area to enable residents to raise any local issues. Residents will be notified by letter in advance of the date, time and specific streets/roads where the surgery will take place.  Surgeries are not held in August, on Bank Holidays, Easter or in Christmas Week.  Dulwich Hill Ward Councillors I’ve never seen any notification of surgeries being held, including on the DH councillors’ social media accounts. I don’t know if any other residents of Dulwich Hill have? Neighbouring wards all seem to have times and places posted for surgeries.
    • I wouldn't feel too bad about that. It's one of the few degree areas that you can do a BA or a BSc in, so it's a fairly wide-ranging and complex subject. Certainly Truss, Kwasi and Reeves seem to struggle with it.
