Sort of a family room topic, as we have two young, active children...

We are repainting our kitchen and living area walls and cupboards and like the Farrow Ball colours we have tried. Reviews from about 5 years suggest that this chips very easily, doesn't wipe down well, which is not ideal with kids.

Anyone used it recently and found it better?

I tried colour matching it with Valspar at B&Q but it's not quite the same. Anyone tried another colour matching service?

Thanks

Hi, I wouldn't recommend it personally in high traffic areas with young children. I'm speaking as someone who decorated only a couple of months ago. Lovely colours but not durable in my experience with young children. Little Green slightly better

We used F&B last time. Beautiful colours and finish but not great for general living.

Someone recently told us about Mylands. They have marble in their paints and apparently this makes them very child-friendly. They're not that well known but do have a royal warrant so they're not doing too badly. Similar prices to F&B. Smaller range but they do colour match too. They're based ish locally.

There’s also a step up into Maria’s - much smaller but you need to negotiate the step and door at the same time. Olivelli has more room and if I remember right the toilets are on the ground floor. A consideration if steps are an issue The Lordship might be an option. Noise is not usually an issue. We’ve enjoyed various meals there. The ladies toilets are on the same floor as the tables (the gents may be upstairs). The staff are always friendly
