Hey - I'm no republican - just not good with formal weddings. Very happy for all those that enjoyed the show as I enjoyed my walk.

Well I didn't watch the wedding at all (not even on the news), BUT, I spent most of the day...ahem...celebrating it on my friend/neighbour's front lawn with other friends/neighbours. We ate, chatted, snoozed, teased, laughed, played and drank to excess. A fabulous day. Thanks to M for arranging this mini-street-party and to her young son J for suggesting the idea. Perfect.

Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed watching what Britain does best and I agree it was a great showcase for UK plc.

I employ three hundred people in the USA across three States and overwhelmingly they were excited about the event.

Most US networks covered the wedding live, with few commercial breaks

My wife is Canadian and working back in Winnipeg, again the level of interest was tremendous and the majority of her friends stayed up to watch from 4am onwards

Also my cousin Dan commanded the Sovereign's Escort on the day, so was hoping all went off well for him.

    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa. So for the third time, will you now eat humble pie?
