Given that the weather looks set to be lovely this weekend (saying that I know that it will now rain heavily) I wanted to do a family day out and have a bit of a country walk. We've just got a baby back pack and want to use it!

Do any of you have any tips for walks or villages/areas that we can drive to quite easily from ED?

We did a great walk last year around Eynsford in Kent which had roman villas, castles, old churches and farms. I think it was a Forum tip actually

But would love any other tips about nice places!

Thanks

There's an Otford Cicular walk on the Time Out walks site which is lovely (especially if the bluebells are out, but it may be a bit early for that). You can get the train to Otford from Denmark Hill station.

It does have a steep up hill walk at the beginning, but the rest of it is level/down hill if I recall correctly.

If I weren't 6 months pregnant, I'd be out for a walk myself - I may have to make do with once round the park!

    • Another recommendation for Adam on the Dartmouth Road. Have been going there for years. I will never go anywhere else (unless I move home to somewhere far away!) No faff, very reasonal price and nice atmosphere 👍
    • Thanks so much I’ll try that too… might still try getting hold of an air purifier as well if at all possible - want to try cover all bases!
    • The 185 is often the same. But that's why buses sometimes (and annoyingly) stop to "regulate the service". To be fair, it's often due to traffic conditions. If there is not much traffic, the one behind catches up with the one in front.
    • I imagine this is because of the average  additional time involved, due to the styles. You could have asked the reason? I will ask, next time I'm in there.  Many salons have this differential pricing.
