Nero
I very often see them walking in twos, along LL, which is naff. They could split up and cover two beats. My Son`s school has a book with all of the school photographs which is used if there are any problems within the area of the school or they are seen to have the school uniform on. WorriedMum
lilolil - I think you might be right about the school uniform connection because the boy who pulled the girls off of my daughter when she was attacked on LL was also wearing black and red uniform. Also have just talked more to her about it and gleaned more info. She says she thinks he knew them because he said "Get off her, man, just leave it." He then apparently walked with them when they crossed the road and stood outside the kebab shop with them. WorriedMum
Not sure that it's St Michael's and All Angels as I have checked their website and it's a different tie. My daughter said the boy was wearing a black school uniform with a black and red striped tie. St Michael's and All Angels has a plain bright red tie. Does anyone know which school might have the black uniform with black tie with thin red stripes? lilolil
The only two schools I can think of is Sacred heart at Camberwell, and Charles Edward Brook. They have a black and red uniform. If the boy also had on the same uniform then it would be sacred heart as that is co ed.The police are going to ask local schools if they have pupils matching the description who live in Crystal Palace Road.Thank you for all your kind offers of help. Ko
Lilolil - if you think one of the children may live near CP Road, it would be worth asking the Underhill Roads shops if they've seen them (shops at junctions between Barry Road and CP Road). The newsagents may know a few of the troublesome children around if they have ever come in and are rowdy etc. Also go into the fish and chip shop and the kebab shop and ask to speak to the owners - two brothers own those shops. I will also ask a couple of people I know at the community centre on Darrell Road in case they have had any trouble with these girls hanging around the grounds and picking on other children.About the reward, I would call the police whether or not there was a reward, but maybe a reward could be useful for encouraging other children to give any info they may have? hytyme4
I was horrified to read about the problems relating to children being attacked and robbed in East Dulwich. I find it extremely disturbing that our children almost view being robbed and bullied as an occupational hazard and a part of growing up. The fact that children will make stories up rather than tell their parents that they have been robbed, threatened or beaten up is almost beyond belief. If it were not for your blog, I would not have believed it possible. I am glad that all concerned appear to be ok, however, the people responsible need to be caught if we are to be able to reassure and protect our kids. I don't live in East Dulwich but I run a business here. As part of my commitment to the area and to the local community, I am the Chair of the East Dulwich Safer Neighbourhoods Ward Panel, which is a committee of volunteers from within the local community, responsible for setting priorities for the Police Safer Neighbourhoods Team covering the East Dulwich Ward. This blog was brought to my attention by a local resident just before our last ward panel meeting. As a consequence I was able to raise the matter and raise the profile of this particularly nasty type of crime with the panel. There was much discussion about the issues and the committee unanimously agreed to set it as a priority for our Safer Neighbourhood Police Team to research the issue and look at ways in which they can target this type of crime ie look at if there is a pattern emerging about where this type of crime is committed and if so can it be traced back to particular groups, schools, estates or streets for example. It is vitally important to share information on issues like this and I would urge everyone to encourage their friends and neighbours to continue to report issues like this, if not to the police then through forums like this one, so that at least the information is out there so that anyone can find out about it and at the same time, we as a community can build up more intelligence on and awareness of the situation. I would encourage anyone to report a crime to their Safer Neighbourhood Team. Even if a crime cannot be solved, at least the Police are fully aware of what is going on in their area and can target resources appropriately if a pattern starts to emerge. If someone does not want to report the matter directly to the Police, they can email me and I will use the information to help inform the decision making process when setting priorities for the Safer Neighbourhood Team. Our Ward Panel is independent of the Police and is there to set priorities based on the perceived needs of our local community.Below are the contact details for the Safer Neighbourhood TeamTel. 02087212447Email [email protected] Regards Martin Cambridge Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1698-northcross-rd-121007-420pm/page/4/#findComment-54116 Share on other sites

Keef
Hopefully their parents saw this and have dealt with them, or they saw this and have realised they're "Wanted", and are behaving themselves... Doesn't really help former victims, but at least the streets may be safer...Either that or they're mugging poor kids a bit further afield! :-S Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1698-northcross-rd-121007-420pm/page/4/#findComment-54205 Share on other sites
tiddles
I was intersted to read these updates as we were away for half term - just want to let you know that I am still keeping my eyes peeled. I suspect that miss red bunches has probably dyed her hair by now, but just because there have not been any postings, doesn't mean we are not still vigilant! It is so important that these children don't get away with it, from the 'justice must be seen to be done" vein but also to perhaps stop some little minxes going too far down the wrong path. I know they sound depressingly experienced, but it would be great to stop a slippery slope (for ALL our sakes!)cheers Jan Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1698-northcross-rd-121007-420pm/page/4/#findComment-54495 Share on other sites
