I wonder how likely it is that Meadows will just apply for and get retrospective planning permission ?

Does anyone understand - and can explain to me - Meadow's motives in these v hostile acts ?

registering DHFC trademarks etc

locking them out of the ground

erecting fences

restricting access

It may be obvious but I can't see what they gain out of it ?

Is it the demise of DHFC ?

Um ,but why the fences ? Some long term plan of adverse possession ?

The Dorking Wanderers game has been move forward to Good Friday, March 30, at 15:00

Maybe they thought if the ground is worthless they would be able to build the flats on the stadium site as per their original plan.... but now they have p***ed the community off there is no way they will get permission. They should have taken Rio Ferdinand's offer.

Yeah why didn't they take Rio's offer? Were they just cutting their nose to spite their face?

I believe they value it in or around 13m and Rio only offered a measly 10m

It's an adjournment debate*. Last half hour of the sitting.

* Explained here:https://www.parliament.uk/about/how/business/debates/adjournment/. Friday sittings are said at http://www.parliament.uk/about/how/occasions/calendar/#jump-link-2 to be from 9.30am to 3pm, though presumably they can run late or early. It'll be in Hansard pretty soon anyway.

It should also be viewable on BBC Parliamentary channel, freeview 232.

I believe it was scheduled for 2.30

DHFC statement

" Helen Hayes MP's adjournment debate on our situation scheduled for 2:30pm in the House of Commons on Friday (16th),"

Well I for one thought it was very good. Helen Hayes made a strong and impassioned speech with good support from her own benches. The Minister for Sport knows the club (she saw games there when she lived in Herne Hill) and was very supportive and my understanding was that unless Southwark, the Club and the developers could sort it out she would appoint someone to do it. Well done Helen Hayes for bringing it to such national attention. I'm not making any political point at all but we appear to have a first class constituency MP.

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
