I don't have a bike to offer but wondered if you're aware of the free community exercise group that meets at Peckham Rye cafe on Saturday mornings at 10am? They do intervals of walking, jogging or running (everyone goes at their own pace) with toning and strengthening exercises inbetween. I went along for a while and found that being part of a group gets you round even if you're not feeling like it. There's lots of support and encouragement, so very inclusive.

Gumtree's good for bikes. I found my last one on there.

Hi, thank you very much for the suggestion; I am aware of the group and think it's a great thing, but right now my self-image is pretty poor so would not be comfortable in such a setting. When I can get up to jogging fitness it's something I'd pursue though. I've been checking Gumtree, but only seen kid's bikes, will keep looking I guess, really want to get fit again and I know from past experience that cycling works well for me as I enjoy it and can exercise at my own pace and time.

    • Doesn't surprise me that you expressed your appreciation of foxes. You feel strongly about them, fine. Perhaps they don't leave a nightly pile of poo in your garden or you don't need to deal with it. Life is too short to argue the point. I have neighbours who feed the foxes and tell me the rubbish  they feed them. Foxes are wild creatures, by feeding them [people are making them reliant on humans to feed them. I guess they don't have to clear up their nightly mess. It actually becomes a tiresome chore and hence my loathing of the fox. They are a protected vermin. Don't mess or come into my garden. no problem, leave their mess it becomes an issue.
    • Some folk are constantly putting household refuse, which includes food, in litter bins, which crafty foxes then liberate and eat (as well as leaving non-edibles strewn all over the place). If you’re doing this, please stop and use your own bin!  Why use bleach? It’s harmful to all forms of life. Just rinse the poo away with tepid, soapy water.
