This morning when I left for work at around 6:30 am I saw 2 males at the end of Upland road (near house number 80) standing outside a white car parked there. It looked like they were up to no good, they had the car door open and when they saw me they stepped away from it and stopped what they were doing. Both had their hoods up and it was dark still, so I didn't want to approach them but I alerted the police anyway. Hopefully, my suspicions don't turn out to be true, but they gave me a feeling they were doing something they shouldn't have been.

For several hours the village has been overrun with unnervingly undersized, high-voiced ne'er-do-wells in dark clothes and masks clearly designed to frighten local residents, demanding treats and threatening tricks if you don't hand them over.

I've locked the door and turned off the lights. Scary.

    • You could try Celia Hammond on Lewisham Way in New Cross, but call them first.
    • i think I have seen that animal rescue charities can use old towels/sheets etc. Can anyone give me the address of one that I can donate them to - or do they collect?
    • I'd take some stool samples, keep them in the fridge, book a GPs appointment, and ask for them to be analysed. Kids are sick from time to time.  We all were.  We all are occasionally.  Unless there is a serious outbreak of a bug that can potentially hospitalise a lot of people, then public health will not get involved. For your own benefit you can always visit the cafe and check out their scores on the doors food safety rating and if they are not displaying one, question why. A few years ago there was a large e coli outbreak at the Glastonbury festival, cows graze the land and some festival goers were not being too hygienic.  A reminder to us all to wash our hands etc.  with COVID this should be second nature
