I have a very happy, healthy and hungry 9 month old girl! She still has a little milk in the morning and a lot before bed time...but apart from that we are very much on solids and water/very watered down juice.

I am just looking for more adventurous food ideas. I am aware of a thread for meal times, but I am more looking for foods she may not have tried yet or fun snacks!

Favourites are banana, mash, carrot, blueberries, porridge, butternut squash, homemade spagetti.

Also, she is still toothless!

Would love some fresh ideas, I don't want her to get bored!

Not sure these are adventurous but here's some favourites in our house....

Red Leicester cheese chunks

Avocado & cream cheese on rice cakes or crackers

Gnocchi with whatever sauce & extras take your fancy - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4594/tomato-spinach-and-mascarpone-gnocchi

Courgette lasagne - http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4716/creamy-courgette-lasagne

http://www.babyledweaning.com/recipes/ - lots of recipe & snack suggestions here

We have a hungry (nearly) 9 month old who loves eating. I make various mini fritters which I then freeze and reheat in the microwave for healthy ready made snacks - e.g. sweetcorn, carrot with quinoa and spinach, beetroot and feta, courgette with peas or chickpeas or feta, etc. Really simple to make - basic batter mixture is 2 tbsp flour, 1 egg and a splash of milk to which I add the other ingredients and any herbs or spices.

As Fuschia suggested, most babies seem to like houmous which they can have with breadstick, pitta or rice cake dippers (or carrot if they're good at munching!).

For main meals Baby Knomester has things like chicken casserole, ratatouille with pasta and cheese, vegetable & lentil curry with rice, creamy chicken an mushrooms with veg, mini fish pies with peas, cauliflower with green lentils, quinoa and lots if ginger and garlic, veggie chilli (with bulgar wheat and pulses), pasta with cheese sauce and veg, etc. Then at teatime I tend to give him easy to eat food because he's often tired, so soups (sweetcorn chowder, carrot & lentil, creamy leek & potato), risotto, houmous, eggy bread, mini cheese sandwiches, avocado, savoury muffins, homemade rice pudding (with no sugar), yogurt and fruit, etc.

Hope this gives you some new ideas! Just let me know if you'd like any recipes and I'll try to write them down.

    • No I won't. This has nothing to do with Ryedale and everything to do with the way people approach news.
    • I'm getting dozens of fliers a year from all the estate agents.  I'm not selling, thinking of selling or renting out. The one from John D Woods really got my goat as it is plastic coated so can't even be recycled.  I've emailed them.  They must be making so much money to to these mass mail outs.  I couldn't find the old thread about things that put you into an irrational rage (although this rage is not irrational) I have a nice time too watching GB win their first medal at the Winter Olympics - that is an understatement! I'll burn it, sod the tiny impact on air quality.
    • @PenguinYou will have to explain this to me bearing in mind your and others outrage at a possible new scheme on Ryedale, and the use by many on this forum of Southwark News to support their reaction. I don't know what precautionary mindset means.  The precautionary principle is that we need to act now for example in tackling climate change rather than wait twenty years for conclusive evidence (that was the situation in 2006 when Stern published his report) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stern_Review
    • Yes, and their sister (?) company Inigo has some interesting Not Modern properties as well! Interesting as in marvelling at people's very varied  tastes 🤣
