Ah, the ever popular 'serving suggestion'... cut the stonner at an angle to best display the fine pink/grey meat(?) and serve with styrofoam cup full of $#*@!

They featured the Stonner on BBC Scotland News some time ago. The shop owner that invented it in Glasgow was asked by the reporter if it was responsible behaviour given Scotland's high rate of heart disease.

He responded that they had a sign in the window limiting 1 stonner to 1 customer per day and also that he had "plans for a deep fried rocket salad" in future.

I?d eat it sober. Hell, I?d probably eat it for breakfast provided there was chilli sauce involved. Not the chips though. I like chips on their own not with stuff.

But then I wouldn't put myself forward as an exponent of good taste when it comes to culinary matters.

I also think that pre-requisite drunkenness is a perfectly reasonable element of any menu.

    • Strong views?  I thought this was The Lounge so anyone could bring something up?  This is an important part of our day to day life and the Labour Party isn’t doing what they promised since their election nearly a year and a half ago.
    • OMG,  Greene King.  How awful.  Music may be fine.
    • Baffled by this. We've adopted our last three cats from Celia Hammond and all three have been outdoor cats (which we were upfront about). And when we got our first cat we were out working every day. And of course we live on a road, with through traffic - who doesn't, in London? Maybe we were just lucky but none of those things were deemed an issue when we applied for adoption - in fact we found the RSPCA much stricter when we tried to register with them first time round. Not saying this wasn't your experience, hellosailor, but it certainly wasn't ours - so I wouldn't want this post to put other people off contacting Celia Hammond to ask about adoption. They are a brilliant little charity and I will be supporting this appeal as I have done other appeals of theirs in the past.
    • Why was it a disastrous speech? I watched the BBC news and then listened to some of the discussion and it didn't come across like this,  You clearly hate Labour and everything they stand for.  Have Your Say on the BBC website may be a better place for you to post your strong views.
