Novice gardener, so sorry if this is obvious, but I have a couple of young beech plants and also a shrub that are being decimated by something.. is it slugs?? If so, I can't follow how they only go for one of the beech saplings when the 2 on either side are pretty much untouched?? It's literally like something has systematically chomped through every single bit of foliage on the beech, and the shrub (think it's called Viburnum) which is actually not planted anywhere near the beech is looking like it might go the same way... HELP!

    • It feels like it might be an extension of the summer water bombing spate. The sad thing is this could really put off some visiting the park. I really hope the council seriously consider putting some of their huge parking surplus to funding a serious and permanent warden and police presence in the park; it is needed.
    • So glad the kids that threatened your dog were spoken to. Also good to know police aware of fireworks. I heard some going off again this evening, well before dusk, so they need to get on top of this or with it getting dark earlier it may get a lot worse.

    • To put this over dramatic and somewhat gleeful post in context, the policy has not "failed at first hurdle." "It is just a temporary decision. The judge granted a pause of at least 14 days so the man, who is not being named for legal reasons and arrived in the UK on a small boat last month, could provide evidence of his claim that he has been a victim of modern day slavery." from BBC website
