macutd
I was going down Melbourne Grove this morning on my bike and thought I saw a squirrel crossing the road ahead. But as I got closer i realised it was a rat crossing in front of Callows. Bit of a shock, it is my first rat sighting since moving to East Dulwich 23 years ago!! uncleglen
The best place to see bold rats in broad daylight is Ruskin Park near the pond Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/175194-rat-in-melbourne-grove/#findComment-1198701 Share on other sites
hammerman
I've seen the ones at Ruskin Park pond over the years but think they're water rats so they glide in and out and about. flocker spotter
There have been rats in the areas for years. Used to see them quite often around the station and the park by Sainsburys. Isn't there a saying that you are never more than 5m from a rat in London? Robert Poste's Child
Six feet. I guess it's only to be expected that you'll see them wherever people store or discard food - one of the reasons why the authorities aren't keen on you feeding bread to the ducks. Food recycling bins must be a big temptation to them. A while back I had to speak to the people at the Dulwich Pavilion cafe as the bins out the back were crawling with them even in daytime.
