Hi

Some advice if I may.. First bub due in october and I have to have a c-section so am tossing up getting an all in one change and bathing station, to bath baby in the sink first and then to the big bath combined with an on the top of the cot changer or a set of drawers with a change bit on top.. I am leaning towards the all in one but my other half isn't convinced.. Thanks!!

We started off bathing ours in the bathroom sink, then moved to the big bath. I have always struggled with a sore back (which was a lot worse after having babies) and would recommend having a changing mat up higher than bed/floor.

We got drawers with a changing mat on top, and once we'd finished with the changing mat they had a wooden top that fitted over top so they look just like a normal chest of drawers now. Well worth the money IMO. In the early weeks I also had a "changing station" set up on the dining room table (changing mat, wipes, nappies etc.) so that I didn't constantly have to go upstairs - probably more important with #2 when there's another child to watch out for, but useful first time round too.

Don't bathe in the kitchen sink! It is completely unhygienic.

We had a changing station with bath incorporated, first time around, but found the bath feature unnecessary. My husband used to bathe with the lo plus shorts so i could photograph the early baths. Then we had a white 45 degree thing and finally a fun seat thing that the baby sits in till quite large.

Second time around didn't bother with the bath aspect of the changing station.

Good luck! It's very exciting!

As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
