Sue
Are there any churches locally with carol services (not midnight mass) on Christmas Eve?St John's on Goose Green used to have carols immediately before midnight mass, but it doesn't seem to be doing that this year.ETA: To be clear, I am looking for adult carol services, not Christingle or childrens' carol services, as I won't be with any children this year. And preferably late evening services. LJC56
In my experience the adult carol services, usually the Nine Lessons and Carols, are the Sunday before Christmas, in this case the 17th. That's when St. Johns Goose Green's is this year. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/176426-carol-service/#findComment-1202952 Share on other sites

Robert Poste's Child
St Barnabas has taken a step forward on the gender front, with parts in carols labelled 'upper voices' and 'lower voices'. As a bit of a Dame Hilda Bracket, I've always felt conspicuous singing with the men before - never stopped me, but nice to feel included.Edited to correct autocorrect.
