It's not unreasonable and I think it's great if they're trying to improve the way people treat that stretch of road, which is a magnet for antisocial behaviour. It would be great if they could do more about the number of people who blatantly avoid paying to use the tube, though.

We have become a nation of Fines... Especially if you are a Motorist.

Many of which are like congestion and pollution for which it is 'O Kay as long as you Pay'

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,

If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.

If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,

If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

Just been reading that the Chinese may not take our plastic waste anymore because it is 'dirty'- ironic since most of it comes from China in the first place

Another benefit of Brexit- 'they' won't be able to fine us every year for breaching 'their' air pollution levels

Then the lesson is, don't drop it! There's a choice in there.

The problem with cigarette butts is that despite popular belief, they are NOT biodegradable.

The problem is with the filters. They are made of Synthetic Polymer Cellulose Acetate ..

These break down into tiny particles and pollute the water table, get into the oceans and get digested by marine Creatures.

They will call the police - seen it happen in Brixton. Failure to give your details is a criminal offence.

On a sidenote, does dropping a butt down a grating - storm drains etc - constitute littering (I mean legally)?

Saw an article where someone got let off putting it in a grating - but it went to appeal.

What was the outcome of the appeal? In principle I would have thought it was fly-tipping as the storm drain is not a waste receptacle for public use.

it was an old post on AVForums(2013) from Belfast and comments a bit mixed - maybe just shows things have got stricter.

Same fine - harder to catch though I assume as the charmers just spit it out as they walk, so the warden would have to be looking in the right place at the right time.

They'll stick it to the underneath of seats etc. :)

What about spitting then ?

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you.
