I shouldn't ever drink alcohol as I always get raging hangovers that last all day. Even the trusted Irn Bru isn't working today. What should I do?

Anyone fancy bringing me a bucket of tea and a truckload of Jaffa cakes?

I think I had a kebab last night, just discovered some onion stuck to my hair and my pillow smells like a hippy. I need to Febreeze my way out of this one otherwise I will be sick out my noise.

It's good I am such a lightweight

Never again.

Berocca...or a double Berocca for a particularly large hangover and some strong pain killers. Mega re-hydration as well. And go for a walk or more strenuous exercise if you can stomach it....wow I sound like a serial hangover-ist.

Bit late but I hope this helps.

Get a sharp knife, slice some oranges and limes.

Throw the limes in a tall glass, add crushed ice, top up with soda water. Drink immediately and then eat the sliced oranges.

Lie down, naked, in a darkened room with the window open. Sleep.

You'll need someone to wake you up a bit later with a hot mug of strong tea and a good quality bacon sandwich. (Don't fret if you've run out of sourdough, it will only add to your headache).

Hair of the dog is the way forward if the hangover is particularly bad but don't order the same drink as the one you had the previous night. Finally, make sure that you don't have anything important, hah, like work, to do the next day because then you're fucked.

It is incredibly fast working and my other half is always amazed/amused at the transformation!

    • Hi Sue, they were not local solicitors. Andrea’s was based in Wales and the other firms involved were large nationwide conveyancing companies (rather than conventional high street solicitors). I’m happy to advise clients and buyers privately on what I believe to be their shortcomings but I don’t think doing so in public on the forum would be appropriate, particularly as they are not locally based. My general advice would always be to steer clear of the big conveyancing companies as they are, in my experience, notoriously difficult to contact when the need arises and the case handler is often not a fully qualified solicitor and so issues have to be referred upwards to “technical teams” internally, which was part of the problem in Andrea’s chain. • A slightly vulnerable but hopeful post… Hi everyone, I’m a guy in my mid-thirties who’s recently moved back to London and East Dulwich (I previously lived here for many years before, so I know the area well). But if I’m honest, I’ve found the return a little tough. Most of my close friends have moved out of London to start families — totally understandable — but it’s left me feeling a bit adrift and not quite sure how to make new connections again. Work has taken up a huge chunk of my life in recent years, and I’ve definitely let hobbies, interests and a proper social life fall by the wayside. I feel like I went from a fun social life in my 20’s to suddenly blinking and realising things had gone a bit er…quiet. So, I’m trying to redress the balance a bit — mainly so myself and my partner don’t murder each other 😂, and just to meet some new local faces. I was wondering: is anyone else in a similar boat? And would there be any interest in starting a relaxed, low-key local social group? Could be a casual pub meet, sports, park hangouts, live comedy nights — open to ideas!  I’m happy to do the organising/admin side of things — just wanted to put it out there and see if there’s any appetite. I’ll gauge interest and take it from there.  If you’d prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to drop me a DM.  Cheers all! 👋
    • It's Inner London. You could move somewhere else?
