Hi there, can anyone recommend the best resort or indeed a nice villa/apartment/hotel for a family of four in Croatia? Ages of kids are 5 and 8 years.

For those in the know, would October half term be a bit too hit and miss weather-wise?

Any tips appreciated. Thank you.

We loved the Lafodia on Lopud. No cars on the island at all so kids can run free and safe. Waters are totally clear like the carribean. We had a room with a large balcony and jacuzzi so when the kids went to bed we still had an evening.

We stayed at the Millenej Hotel in Baska Voda when our two were aged 6 and 8. It's a lovely authentic Croatian resort and the hotel is in apartments so we had two bedrooms and a kitchen/livingroom. It is not far from Split for a day's sight-seeing and there is also a national park in the mountains nearby.

    • Hi, does anyone have their up to date number please?
    • I imagine Franco Manca's business dropped off quite a bit when Yard Sale opened (though isn't Yard Sale delivery only?) But in any case, both of those are chains.
    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.  That's good of Sainsburys! We've done the apple pie and tart thing, an ongoing muesli thing and the coleslaw thing - just not sure what effect all the sugars are having on our digestive tracts.  If we were in Somerset and had a press, I'd consider it. Can't be that diffcult, can it?
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
