Yeovil has a shop called ?The Yeovil sheepskin centre? it sold all things sheepskin. It ran a series of cutaway shot cinema interval type ads on T.V. back in the 80,s and 90?s, with that wonderful strap line ?Yeovil sheepskin centre, for all your sheepskin needs? and ?located just off the A37 with ample customer parking?

The ads must have been aimed at shift workers, or people coming in from the pub, as they usually ran after about 10pm.

Living in Sussex I often wondered how many people actually thought ?f*ck, I think I?ll drive all the way to Yeovil and buy one of those sheepskin coats when I need one?

In the bible, which I am not saying is a factual work, it is a fact that in it, some youths called an old man baldy so god sent 42 bears to attack them! Also that you can't get into heaven without your goodies apparently.

We got a letter from the council "AN ANNUAL REVIEW ... THAT IS CARRIED OUT EVERY TWO YEARS"????

Fact: We had a family telegram from Elvis because he couldn't be bothered to turn up for the prize winners of a rock and roll competition.

Fact: When I am in my nicer sports car road users are more polite and give way more often than when I am transporting oldies in the old farts estate car!

It's worse

"Elisha turned around and stared at the boys. Then he cursed them in the name of the LORD. At once two bears ran out of the woods and ripped to pieces 42 of the boys. "

Syrian bears - not in Palestine any more but they were in biblical times. If you want an animal that really gives the bible credibility a good shake, look up Abraham's domesticated camels...

    • Hubby used to go to this centre for swimming for older people scheme, Got fed up with their chaotic booking system and now goes to Forest Hill Leisure Centre. Costs more but he can book in person and book several days swim. Better changing rooms, including a spin dryer for costumes and towels.
    • When the charity I was involved with had to go into voluntary liquidation during Covid as majority of our funding ceased, We did not have sufficient income to cover the £50.000 pa rent, we had to get rid of 30 years plus of confidential files. We went through a confidential shredding company who took away a hundred plus sacks for shredding. They supplied the sacks and when we could not store anymore, they came and collected.
    • Just got this...... Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during the closure of the pool at Dulwich Leisure Centre. We deeply appreciate your support throughout this period. We’re pleased to let you know that school swimming successfully resumed as part of our phased reopening. This was an important step in testing the performance of the existing filtration system and we’re happy to report that it has coped well. With that reassurance, we’re now ready to move forward with the next stages of reopening: Phase 2 – Morning Lane Swimming, Silver Swim and Aqua Aerobics Dates: From 9 June to 13 July Weekdays: 6:30am to 8:30am Saturdays: 7:00am to 8:00am Tuesday Silver Swim sessions: 3pm to 4pm Tuesday Aqua Aerobics class: 11:30am to 12:30pm Phase 3 – Evening Lane Swimming Dates: 1 July to 13 July Monday to Friday: 8:00pm to 9:45pm Full Closure for Filter Installation The new state-of-the-art filters are scheduled to arrive in mid-July. To allow for installation, the pool will close for approximately six weeks. Pool Closure Dates: 14 July to 24 August We know another closure may be disappointing, but this work is essential for delivering a safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable swimming environment going forward. Phase 4 - Full Reopening Date: 25 August We anticipate that we will be able to fully re-open the pool on 25 August. All programmes will resume, and swimming lessons will return to Dulwich Leisure Centre. Swimming lessons Swimming lessons will remain at alternative venues until we fully re-open to avoid further disruption. We look forward to welcoming you back to lessons at Dulwich when we fully re-open. A separate email will be sent nearer the time to confirm details. Help us to keep the pool clean As we welcome swimmers back, please remember that good pool hygiene is vital for everyone’s safety. We kindly ask all swimmers to shower before entering the water — it really helps us keep the pool clean and maintain a healthy environment for all. Membership Adjustments We’ll continue to keep you informed throughout this process and will share full details soon about eligibility for membership adjustments. Thank you again for your continued patience and support. We look forward to seeing you back in the pool very soon. Warm regards, Phillippa Gillespie General Manager, Dulwich Leisure Centre
