I have noticed that for over a week water has been pouring out of the curbside near number 16 Oglander. Does anyone know if this has been reported to Thames Water? I had assumed someone local to the leak would have alerted the water company, but without any response it looks like it might have been neglected.

Yes I live a few doors up from the leak and have reported it too - I assumed lots of other people has too as it's been going for over 2 weeks now. It's very odd. Maybe it's not considered an urgent enough problem and they haven't got round to it yet. The road is also having roadworks done this week and they will soon be down as far as that leak so presumably they will have to do something about it then.

Don't know if this is relevant, but Thames Water were really overstretched at the time of the previous snow/freeze, and I don't know how they decide their priorities.

I imagine they have another load of leaks now, plus some (as this one?) left over from before.

It would make sense to do it in conjunction with the roadworks though I guess, but who knows. Maybe if somebody phoned they could get more info?

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
