dc
Macroban - you seem to have a one-man mission to keep this thread going. I PM'd you in April to point out that, contrary to your assertion above, Tessa Jowell had raised concerns over the 10p tax rate:"It was all over the papers 10 days ago. For example: [www.sundaymirror.co.uk]"As for your latest 'Big surprise' - as an inner London MP Tessa Jowell doesn't even qualify for the additional costs allowance so I'm really not sure what point you're trying to make here. Ondine
Their role is to be all things to all people and since that's clearly impossible, they end up doing what they judge most valuable. Being seen walking up and down Lordship Lane probably ain't it. I guess her role in the new Harris Boys deserves more attention. It does appear that delivering a school at any cost was her objective, which contributed to the cocktail of political pressure on this issue. Wouldn't it have been great if she had been able to use her muscle for a more popular outcome? Loz
TJ is hardly the worst thing about Labour. No, no, that would have to be that sexist old 70's dinosaur and PM in waiting (hopefully waiting a looooong, long time). Yep, step forward Harridan Halfperson. Nice to see a few more protesters standing on her roof again. Ha ha. uncleglen
I think all those people who have won loads of money from gambling since she lifted the restrictions when they were in office should pay for it! Reg Smeeton
I've been impressed by her support for the new secondary school. I haven't always voted for her, but I think she's been a decent constituency MP. Nigello
Whenever I have been in contact with her (or her staff - you can never tell) - it has been a fuss-free and professional affair. I think she is a good constituency MP. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/187-tessa-of-north-london/page/4/#findComment-831842 Share on other sites

Earl Aelfheah
Anyone on the left who doesn't have money is accused of 'practising the politics of envy' and anyone who does is called 'a hypocrite'. It's just a way of closing down any debate around social justice. BJL
If it hadn't been for her and her office's help, I would have missed a close friend's wedding in the USA last year - and lost hundreds of pounds, too. Thank you (again), Tessa. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/187-tessa-of-north-london/page/4/#findComment-831941 Share on other sites
