In addition, it costs ?50k to lock up a prisoner for a year.

There are a billion things contributing to our currents states of affairs, X Factor has definitely played its part however small.

There are some truths in those french opinions like the dehumanising effect of globalisation, how that is in any way shape or form peculiarly anglo-saxon is just bollox though.

And again, most people in round 2 won't give care about Duggan. Bear in mind, though, that round 1 was meant to have been started by the family not getting answers quickly enough about the original incident, and look where we ended up.

The family might well condone the violence, however there are alot more vested interests desperate for the Police to be seen to execute an "innocent man" and will kick it off again.

Or if you moved to the Home Counties because of the lack of affordable housing...

I'm opposite Camberwell Green and that is utter bollocks. Half the problem is people scare-mongering. If any of the little scrotes read this forum (granted, unlikely) they may now decide to head for this supposed gathering at Camberwell Green, and suddenly you've got a problem that YOU have created. Irresponsible rumours, not to mention the fact that my wife is believing what she reads on here and thinks I'd be safer in Kosovo.

Fortunately most of the expats I know have a sense of pride in the UK and a great deal of concern for their friends and colleagues caught up in this disaster. It would probably take a particular kind of person to capitalise on this tragedy to make petty attacks on others.

I phoned Sainsburys 5 minutes ago and they confirmed that all customers had been evacuated and the store was closed; just the staff to leave. This was due to specific advise received which is that there is a mob moving from Camberwell through to Peckham.

So, in order to keep things factual, you've posted some facts that you received from a shop worker who'd heard from his colleague who had heard some rumours from someone who heard from an indeterminate and unspecified individual who had specific intelligence that a gang was heading from SE5 to SE15. If I was in a mob heading from SE5 to SE15, I'd take the flat route along Camberwell Church St myself, rather than trekking up Grove Lane and Dog Kennel Hill then down the other side thus threatening Sainsburys on the way. (As you can tell, I think you're being ridiculous in posting this nonsense and panicking people for no good reason).

PLEASE can you post concrete facts - photos from Twitter, actual accounts of movement - there must be some of you there that are at home nr LL that are aware of what is happening. I need to make a decision as to whether to come home soon or go stay in Orpington - i'm on my scooter and don't really fancy being punched off it tonight - that nearly happened last night on the junction of Peckham Hill st and Rye lane just before they burnt down the bus - i dodged a couple of the little n0bheads.

On another note - why burn down McDonalds, Fried Chicken Hut and JD Sports?

Also, why loot Poundland??? Are you serious??

    • Hi  I really thought I'd seen a more recent post on the forum about home education meet ups. I can't find it though. Hope some of these might provide leads. https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/137603-home-schooling-advice-anyone-wants-to-do-it-together/#comment-1092093 Very old post but group seems still to exist: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/92044-home-education-local-group/#comment-954837 You could try contacting this forum member: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/325368-classroom-support-for-home-education-community/#comment-1621064 Two of these left for right now: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/events/event/1025-🌟-teens-11-try-painting-sculpture-street-art-at-holiday-workshops/
    • Thanks for your reply. I’ve subscribed to Ancestry a few times in the past but felt I wasn’t using it enough to warrant keeping up the subscription.
    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
    • Was anyone else disturbed last night/early hours this morning by the party going on in someone’s garden on Crystal Palace road. Can’t see what house exactly but it’s around number 43 - 41… it was happening quite frequently last year. Seems it’s starting again! Very inconsiderate.
