Gearing up for their renowned Hope Festival later in May, the Hope Festival boys will be coming to Southwark Sports Lawn Bowls Club to give us all a free taster of what to expect at their renowned annual summer jamboree. The Hope Festival is a non profit making organisation and donate all proceeds to different charities every year.

In keeping with their non-profit making philosophy, they will be putting this event on for FREE. A great opportunity to come and see some of South London's top local talent in a great local community resource, Southwark Sports Lawn Bowls and Social Club - who also happen to be a non-profit making set up. A match made in heaven.

Highlights include -

All girl Country band, The Twangers.

Sasha and the Shades, a five piece band fronted by local Peckham boy Sasha Adamczewski.

If you think you can smell something fishy, it is probably Ukadelix who describe themselves as a band of trouts. Essentially a cover band, The Ukadelix perform a repertoire of songs ranging from 1920's tunes to more contemporary numbers.

Other performers include The Gits, fronted by East Dulwich's favourite comedian Steve Frost, who will be performing their unique brand of comedy punk.

Plus The Dust Bunnies will be proving that they are made up of much more than dust and Darwins Quilt will also be throwing themselves in to the mixer.

DJ John Preston will be spinning tunes on the decks and there will be spoken word from Jonty and Jamsie.

The night starts at 6pm and will continue until around 1am.

In addition the Clubhouse at Southwark Sports has a very reasonably priced bar prices.

    • It was my understanding that Jeremy Corbyn was embarrassed by his brother and had distanced himself from his brother's views. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Why on earth should "the overall view of that family inform Jeremy's response to the pandemic"? What exactly are you basing that assumption on?
    • I guess it's best to do what most Brits do these days, keep your head down and say nothing! although that's probably why this country is in the mess it is today!  😞
    • @Dulwichway Absolutely - I'm in no way trying to say that what happened was life-changing. I've encountered way worse situations and think of myself as pretty tough, which is why I took them on and got pelted. I suppose I'm just taken aback because the park always seemed so safe. But the stats I've just posted contradict that.   I suppose the one of the points of this thread is to point out that they weren't just numpty youths - I'd bet money on some of them being involved in more serious criminality. And to tell others to be vigilant.
    • Still, I guess it could be a lot worse than water being thrown at you by these numpty youths during these warmer times? thankfully it wasn't the more dangerous mugging type youths that crossed your path waving knifes and guns in your face!  just a thought? hopefully these muppets will get sorted by plod soon, but don't hold your breath.
