I read that this morning and thought "Damn, just as he's getting old enough for me to lighten up and give him his due" he does that

Fact his, him takingthose 2-3 players back may well condemn Preston to relegation. And whilst he is within his rights to do it, to do it because a member of his own family got the sack is just nuts. It's conflating family matters with how another club tries to run it's business and is out of line

'Fraid I'm with ???? on this one. The only reason Preston got some Man U reserves/YTS players was due to Fergie Snr. I'd have done the same.

And I'm with ???? again on Spurs being my team of 2010. They make me laugh every time I watch them. Often comic defending aligned with some of the most scintillating attacking play in the league. Van De Fart seems like the bargain of the season and in Bale they have the best left sided player in the league. Bagpuss has done well.

As a Leeds fan, 2010 has been pretty good. We started the year beating Man Utd and got a draw against Spurs in the FA cup before losing the replay. I'm hoping for a repeat against the Gunners next week. Sean and I are off to the Emirates to watch it so back your team carefully! Our league campaign faultered badly in the second half of the season but was enough to see us promoted to the Championship.

This season in 2010 all is well. Despite some shocking results and poor performances we are level on points with automatic promotion spots and the dream of a return to the Premiership in 2011 is starting to look possible.

Marching On Together!

Sean are you actually suprised by Fergusons actions? I'm not. Looking forward to turning Leeds over in the FA cup just like we did on many ocassions which I witnessed home and away when TH14 was still with us, and god (Dennis Bergkamp) walked the earth.

Oh how we hated that Leeds team then but it was against The Arse so still a corker in my book. This current Leeds team though are looking a good side and I watched them at WHL earlier in the season when we beat them in the Cup (I've forgotten the score but I'm sure DC will know). It's time they were back in the Premiership so hope they keep up the good work and get there (Jeez! have I been drinking?

It's one thing to get plaudits about your club playing scintillating, entertaining, attacking football and Spurs have been great to watch but the point is to win something and we've won feck all yet. If I could have one trophy in our cabinet at the end of the season it would be the *European Cup. COYS!

*I can dream can't I?

If you say so, but don't be so presumptious by assuming that I've only followed them recently, I first stood on the North Bank Highbury on Boxing day 1968 and we won 3 - 0, against the mancs. Some of us are not fairweather merchants or glory hunters.

Edited cos I forgot to add the year of my first visit to Highbury.

On the Spurs front I should add my appreciation too

As well as playing some pretty football, there is a genuine spirit (as opposed to the one Arsene is always banging on about in interviews) in the team ? coming back from 2-0 down to beat us is one example. Winning not one but two games over the Christmas period depite being down to 10 men in both is impressive as well

If Arsenal don?t win the CL (oooh yeah Barcelona? shudder) then I?d be happy to see Spurs win it if they carry on at this rate

You get the impression that they are winning over (in admiration terms, not actual changing of allegiance!) many supporters from other teams just as Liverpool appear to be alienating quite a lot of other supporters

    • Copleston centre hire for adult parties
    • Most churches rent out halls for children's' parties but rarely adult parties, Christ Church only does afternoon parties,   The East Dulwich Community centre hires out halls to 9 pm only and all music needs to be on a sound restrictor as is in a residential area. St Johns with St Clements have a small hall but not sure if they allow adult parties. Nunhead Green has a newish community centre with a couple of different size halls. Most places seem to charge around £40 ph  with a deposit of £100/200 (returned if no damage or excess cleaning needed.
    • Hello, Recently there have been various comments made on the forum which have resulted in heated discussions being had. I for one, hold up my hand and wanted to personally thank whoever is keeping the forum going.. remember when it was likely to close. We are all adults and should known when it is right to continue or just ignore or if really feel it necessary comment via pm. I have had a long relationship with the forum and have bought, sold, offered advice and in deed made friends on the forum over the years. It is a public forum after all and everyone is entitled to express their opinion and is also free. I am not as tech minded as most but with the season of good will approaching and-knowing in this economic climate how many people are  struggling, I  thought it would be a lovely idea, to perhaps set up a just giving page to raise funds for a local charity who might appreciate a contribution towards their Christmas festivities… On a practical side, might just be to complicated to administer as I am sure all have charities that we support so my other thought was not me, as I am useless but to set up a just giving page and whatever monies are raised, perhaps contribute to the festivities that use to be run by local shops or whatever.. Maybe even use a local church hall and just make it special for perhaps folk that find it difficult to access events or no access for say wheel chair users.. guess really, one is looking for guidance from the church and of course volunteers. Shoot me down if you must or feel the need but this is my view and no, sadly I won’t be around in the months before Christmas but can help remotely.
