Come on everyone, lets play nice, and that means all of you Emerson. Anyway, yeah looks like Woy is going. I genuinely feel for him, and think it's especially sad that a lot of liverpool fans will laugh him out, and seem convinced it was all his fault. There is a part of me (not the liverpool fan, but the fair part) that hopes he goes elsewhere, and comes back to bite these fans in the arse. He deserved a chance at least, being warmly welcomed for his first home match might have been a good start. Good luck to you Woy, you're a decent chap who has been treated badly by a load of spoilt kids.
Emerson, I know little of you, or, of the supposed little gang but I have to say most of your chat on this thread is nothing but dull, childish, inane rubbish. I'm all for a wind up (especially when it comes to my fellow Merseysiders) but with you it always seems to spiral into petty drivel.

what keef said

I think the players have to shoulder a fair amount of the blame on this - they seme to have existed in a "let's see what happens" state of mind for quite a long time now

And Emerson - if enough people are pointing the finger at you at least have pause for thought and think it might be you and not them?

Thanks for your constructive and insightful feedback. I bow to your superiority. Your postings are an example to us all, and of a quality which we all aspire to.

Oh sure, but the reverse may also be true, no?

Correct....no. I'm hitting the colon next to your name EC so I don't have to read your posts anymore. They've just become irritating.

The same journalist who doesn't want Allardyce at West Ham because he's Northern?

Poor old Roy, lets feel sorry for him because he's a nice chap. Yeah, thats what supporting a football team is about. Sod the results on the pitch, he's a nice fella and he tries.

I do also blame the players for some of their displays, but I seem to recall a new manager would lift them and steady the ship, especially as that nasty Spanish man was so horrible to them.

The double standards here are hilarious.

Very adult of you.

It always makes me smile when others on here are all so self righteous and throw their hands up in mock horror when posters such as you and I put stuff on here that doesn't square with their view of the world. But you and I know this don't we Anna.

I want to know what makes a "big club"?

All I keep hearing about is how Liverpool (in this instance - other clubs have their moments) deserve success and therefore need a new manager because they are a "big club".

In the past, ditto for Newcastle, Leeds, Chelsea, Spurs etc

But what mystery ingredient makes a club "big"? Stadium size? Fan base? Only team in a geographic area?

I know this while rile the 'pool fans on here but maybe this is the time that you accept being average for a while. It happens to all teams at some point - see Man Utd 1980s, Chelsea 1985-2000, Leeds 2002 to present etc etc

Anna my comment wasn't meant to be directed specifically at you, but I do stand by it. Woy hasn't done a great job, I'm not saying he has, but I think a lot of fans, probably you included, wanted him to fuck up before a ball was ever kicked, like it was his fault Rafa left. Yes supporting a football club is about results, and I do bow to your superior support, but for me, it should always be about supporting the team and the manager. I think that right from August, you and others should have realised that Woy being there, and Rafa not being there, were 2 completely separate issues. I said to your face that I think you're overly blinkered about Rafa, and although I never wanted him out, there is a negative for every positive about him.

Spurs have only got good again pretty recently after decades of little success bar the odd FA Cup.

Everton are now relegation material and haven't been "big" since the 80s.

Peaks and troughs. I think that's normal. And maybe now it's just Liverpool's turn as it were.

And Man Utd were relegated in 1974 and nearly again in the mid-80s so also went through the same grist after big success in the 60s so whilst I agree they have been a "big club" since the late 50s.

I guess what I'm driving at is that no club is "big" enough to demand success. Sometimes you just won't have it for a while.

I find it quite patronising to be honest Keef. I wasn't happy with his appointment, but I always get behind the manager and the team, especially at the match. Hodgson should do the right thing and stand down. But no, he's a stubborn get who knows that if he's sacked he is in for a huge pay off. Just like he did at Blackburn.

Changing the subject, for me a big club has been successful domestically and in Europe (not just once)* and has a global fanbase.

Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcleona, Inter and AC Milan and also Liverpool would fit in to that category.

*If not you'd be including the likes of Steau Bucharest, although they'd be classed a big club in Romania.

    • Good luck with this - there have been several requests over the years by students needing to do infant observations.  I was lucky when I did mine  - way back in 1994 at a local nursery. Have you tried contacting the NCT to see if there are any local groups who would be willing to participate? As a mother of 2 - found the observation very informative - mine was a 2 year old child as my course stated a child under 3. Got my highest grade for this project so was very happy.
    • Happy birthday! I've just read a bunch of your reviews and really enjoyed it. You write Interestingly without being too ornate, and you manage to give a really good insight into the "vibe" of a place as well as the food. Totally agree with your review of Rocca - it's simple, great food in a friendly atmosphere at a completely reasonable price, esp considering the location.
    • Hello,  I am a 52-year old mother and an integrative counsellor who lives and works in West Dulwich, SE21. In mid January I am starting a new training in Parent Infant Psychotherapy (helping parents to bond with their babies), and a key component of the course is a 24-month infant observation.  I’m looking for someone who will be giving birth ideally in January or February and who would allow me to observe their baby for one hour a week until the baby’s second birthday. The baby can be awake or asleep, playing, feeding, eating or interacting with carer/s and family members - whatever they normally do at that time.  The purpose of the observation is to enable me to gain a thorough knowledge of very early infant development and to develop the capacity to maintain an observationally minded and non-judgemental attitude in my work as an infant-parent psychotherapist.  I will provide enhanced DBS clearance and I’m happy to answer any questions.  Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested, email me at [email protected] or call me on 07949716043. I would be extremely grateful for any leads. Many thanks,  Millie  Millie Burton, MBACP Integrative Counsellor [email protected] millieburton.com
    • I keep my promises...had the Sweet & Sour Chicken.  It was great - the best sweet and sour dish I've ever had. The chicken itself was good and the sauce seemed home made with real vegetables and pineapple - it is NOT the red sugar sauce goo you get elsewhere.  The Korean fried chicken was very good but the sweet chili sauce was much more chili than sweet - just far too spicy for me. There is a honey something sauce that I will get next time. Egg fried veggie rice was good as a side.  We also ordered the chicken katsu curry which was polished off so quickly I didn't get to taste it. It looked very good tho. SD is not like Magic Wok used to be - cheap and filling but junk food. (Don't get me wrong - I went often to Magic Wok). SD's food is much higher quality, real ingredients, chunky portions, freshly prepared. I'll be back, for sure.
