I'm sorry to bring up old ground but I've been watching from afar, slightly aghast - I'd like to see people who go on about Nani being a bigs girls blouse and it only being a scratch see how they'd react if a stud cut them through to the bone...keyboard warrioring of the worst sort.

Well done Narnia for at least trying to stand up against such unpleasantness.

Keyboard warrioring of the worst kind? We are on a thread about football aren't we? Taking the piss out of a player for crying might be mean, but it's only fucking football for christ's sake! I've no idea why anyone has taken it so seriously, and you don't seem to have an opinion on the whole xenophobic claim Quids? I swear, Sean done the right thing getting off this stupid forum. Christ knows what you'd call it if someone was talking about something that actually mattered.

My legs, especially my shins and knees still bear the scars of my football playing days. I never cried. Not once. I never behaved like a petulant spoilt child throwing his toys out of the pram when I got fouled and I certainly never took a dive.

I've said all along it was a bad tackle that warranted a sending off but Nani's reaction and his behaviour in the past left a lot to be desired.

Can we move on now please?

No Keef I thought yours and Mathews posst were unpleasant, not Xenophobic I agree , but not just 'taking the piss', - and not typical of your postings at all. To be honest you seem quite senstitive about this so I supect you possibly think this youreslf too. As you say, it's a forum FFS so We're welcome to our opinions. I thought Narnia/Declan got a particularly hard time from quite a few on here for standing up against unpleasant posts, although I agree that I don't think you were being xenophobic. If you're going to leave the Forum because of someone who likes you and most of your posts just happens to think you and several others were out of order on this occasion, then it's a pity. The talking point in all the papers I read and what I saw was a disgusting tackle not Nani's reaction - I gave up with proper tribalism at football a long time ago, 'bantering' about an unpleasant injury isn't for me.

No intention of leaving because of anything you said, that is a whole other story.

I am sorry if my posts came across as unpleasant. All my comments were based on what I saw on the day, and what I saw on MOTD, and I thought his reaction was shocking. That was not to defend the tackle in any way (and I never have).

I've just done a google search, and there are some stories suggesting he may be out for a few weeks, and that, if true, is unfortunate, but I still think his reaction lost him a lot of sympathy, and maybe "boy who cried wolf" is appropriate in this scenario.

To be honest you seem quite sensitive about this

That is purely because of the xenophobic thing. I'm not sure if Narnia was trying to be malicious or not, but that little "throw away" comment, annoyed me more than anything has on this thread, or this forum for a long time! You just don't throw words like that around, even if you have read a newspaper article (which I agreed, made some good points).

Xenophobic, and racism may not be the same thing, but for me, they are both equally unpleasant accusations, and yes, I get upset if one is aimed at me. Had the word "racists" been used instead of "xenophobes", there would have been much more of an uproar, and having read that article, I'm not sure the guy who wrote it really knows the difference.

Anyway, I've said my piece.

    • Just to repeat the news I was given – it's not being converted into a pub. As far as I know, there's no intention of dumbing down their restaurant offering.  Although as others have pointed out, Camberwell has two pubs – The Camberwell Arms and now the Michelin-starred Kerfield Arms – with excellent food. The Palmerston used to be the only pub in ED that was of such quality, but sadly no longer IMHO.
    • The country is in a real state.  What worries me about the Greens is encouraging migration and openly offering benefits to all with visas.  Where is the money for that coming from?  As if there is spare money, as if there is growth. Where I their holistic manifesto, ensuring funds are available and this is sustainable, and regulated? Incredibly dangerous and idealistic

    • I disagree with the use of the word "sectarianism" in this context and Starmer is a total a*se to have introduced it. In my mind, sectarianism conjures up the hatred and vicious violence of The Troubles in Northern Ireland.  The divide between the Greens and Reform are a long way from that and is more reminiscent of a time when the two main parties actually stood for something and voting was more a matter of following one's political beliefs. Nobody called that sectarianism.
