I stumbled upon selective perception whilst reading about something entirely different and it seems to nicely sum up why such discussions are so extreme.

It basically says that sports fans are irrational when it comes to their team. No surprise there really, but nice to see such deviations in judgement being demonstrable conditions ;)

Interestingly, for all the mud that's thrown at him, Otta has been consistently the most rational and dispassionate observer in this whole charade.

I can only infer that he either has an extremely cool head or he's not really that much of a Liverpool supporter any more ;)

We did Wednesday 5-1 this season and have claimed a few FA cup scalps over the years so Spurs would be wise not to be overconfident.

I don't expect to win this in all honesty, but will hopefully bag a couple of tickets as it'll be a fantastic day.

ps Spurs is pretty much most people's other team in Stevenage.

Blimey, it all kicked off in here at the weekend :)

Never nice losing to that lot, but thought we played well, just lacked cutting-edge up front without Rooney/Nani/Young...I thought taking Scholes off handed 'pool the initiative, and fair play to them, they capitalised on it.

De Gea is talented but needs time, mentally as well as physically.

Surprised Fergie didn't buy a more experienced 'stop-gap' keeper to help break-in De Gea over next couple of seasons.

I feel the blame should be with LFC rather than their supporters with regard to the booing of Evra. They have consistently failed to address the issue in a rational way, whipping up the hysteria with their soundbites and T-Shirt publicity stunt. Matthew, like LFC, you spectacularly miss the point...when Suarez comes to OT he'll get a load of abuse with interest, but for the right reason.

Part of a racist dispute? No, he was the victim OF racial abuse for which the perpetrator was duly punished. And the morons that booed him showed that racism in English football in on the increase rather than, as we all hoped, diminishing.

Ah, twas ever thus... bergkamp elbow

Yeah! I can't believe RVP got away with that one especially as the ref said he clearly saw it. Still, last weekend Joleon Lescott got away with a blatant four-arm smash into Younis Kaboul's face but then the ref didn't see that one.

As for Sturridge's dive. It seems a player only has to be given the merest touch in the box (arf!) for them to go down and shout for a penalty which is a very sad reflection on the way the game is played these days.

@El Pibe - certainly a potential banana skin for Spurs if ever I saw one. Especially if they play as poorly as they did at Watford on Friday night. I'm off to White Hart Lane tomorrow for the game against Wigan and expecting much better. Probably not nine-nil though let alone eight. ;-)

Borrowed this one from a prolific forumite... http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTfKHMUvmmDKNndoUPqAaQlUPrugwMY6QXh8mAaY5lERATvoTTw

I'm sure he'll be at about as useful Na$ri and Clichy. Terrific signings eh? As for elbowing, coming from the supporters of the rags is laughable, Roy (the mad dog) Keane broken leg specialist used to play for your mob didn't he? That doyen of the late tackle Scholes still does doesn't he? In recent seasons we've had the likes of Diaby suffer a broken and dislocated ankle during an end of season game against Sunderland, which went unpunished, not even a yellow card. So when opposition fans, especially the rags, try to take the moral high ground and act with righteous indignation I just smile. Pot and kettle.

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
