Er, the elbowing comments actually came from a Citeh and a 'ammers fan.

If only you just did smile...

Better that than a twitching churchill dog!! Just trying to balance things up. I wonder if posters on here will be as quick to jump on the bandwagon when an allegation is levelled at one of their own? Nah

United? Really??? Not as long as I have breath in my body. As for arrogant it must be a Manc thing, it's obviously spreading from the neighbours, who take the prize all day long for arrogance.

I'll find it hard to support a team captained by Terry.

On an even more shocking note, football tribalism plumbs new depths with the deaths in Egypt. Shocked and saddened in equal measure. For all the verbal hostility on here, the scenes on TV yesterday were horrific, and makes wonder if scenes such as these could ever be repeated here. I'd like to think not.

Football violence may be a fact of life in Egypt, but the shocking levels have little to do with tribalism and everything to do with the political situation.

Noone is quite sure how to interpret last nights events until the dust begins to settle, but a couple of theories are doing the rounds.

Despite wider opposition, many ultra leaders are quite cosy with the military leadership who have used them previously to foment civil unrest. It's possible last night was orchestrated to give SCAF (Supreme Council of the Armed Forces - basically the junta that took over when Mubarak stepped down) an excuse to cling on to power, but far more likely is that the violence was a sign that the Ultra leadership have lost control.

If the latter then this was a poke in the eye of the authorities (and a literal stab in the gut of the police deemed to have been Mubarak's poodles and a target of particular hatred) to say get the hell out of power and to move democratic reform on more quickly.

Could it happen here? In short no.

Could it happen somewhere like Spain with 50% youth unemployment and clubs who have long tolerated and colluded with their Ultra support (think Barca and Real particularly)? At a pinch I suppose, but there simply isn't the groundswell of anger at the political situation there to do so.

After the collapse of the Euro and the Spanish economy.....maybe.....

The crappy new look BBC site is now reporting Terry is going to lose the England captaincy.

Rio's probably a bit past it now. Lampard's also past his best. Gerrard seems to be hampered more and more by injury. I don't think it is right for Rooney.

Time for the next generation? Step forward Phil Jones?

He's as old as Gerrard & Co. Nothing wrong with a young captain who can grow more and more in to the role.

The whole Terry thing is troubling. The case should NEVER have been put back until after the euros. However, being as it has been put back, is it right that he be punished in any way, before having his day in court?

If we as a country are going to live by "innocent until proven guilty", then surely until he is found guilty in a court, he shouldn't be punished. IF he is found innocent at trial, the FA will have egg on their faces.

Personally I don't think he should ever have been given the armband back in th first place, but he was, and I'm not sure it's right to strip him of it because he's been accused of something.

    • Good luck with this - there have been several requests over the years by students needing to do infant observations.  I was lucky when I did mine  - way back in 1994 at a local nursery. Have you tried contacting the NCT to see if there are any local groups who would be willing to participate? As a mother of 2 - found the observation very informative - mine was a 2 year old child as my course stated a child under 3. Got my highest grade for this project so was very happy.
    • Happy birthday! I've just read a bunch of your reviews and really enjoyed it. You write Interestingly without being too ornate, and you manage to give a really good insight into the "vibe" of a place as well as the food. Totally agree with your review of Rocca - it's simple, great food in a friendly atmosphere at a completely reasonable price, esp considering the location.
    • Hello,  I am a 52-year old mother and an integrative counsellor who lives and works in West Dulwich, SE21. In mid January I am starting a new training in Parent Infant Psychotherapy (helping parents to bond with their babies), and a key component of the course is a 24-month infant observation.  I’m looking for someone who will be giving birth ideally in January or February and who would allow me to observe their baby for one hour a week until the baby’s second birthday. The baby can be awake or asleep, playing, feeding, eating or interacting with carer/s and family members - whatever they normally do at that time.  The purpose of the observation is to enable me to gain a thorough knowledge of very early infant development and to develop the capacity to maintain an observationally minded and non-judgemental attitude in my work as an infant-parent psychotherapist.  I will provide enhanced DBS clearance and I’m happy to answer any questions.  Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested, email me at [email protected] or call me on 07949716043. I would be extremely grateful for any leads. Many thanks,  Millie  Millie Burton, MBACP Integrative Counsellor [email protected] millieburton.com
    • I keep my promises...had the Sweet & Sour Chicken.  It was great - the best sweet and sour dish I've ever had. The chicken itself was good and the sauce seemed home made with real vegetables and pineapple - it is NOT the red sugar sauce goo you get elsewhere.  The Korean fried chicken was very good but the sweet chili sauce was much more chili than sweet - just far too spicy for me. There is a honey something sauce that I will get next time. Egg fried veggie rice was good as a side.  We also ordered the chicken katsu curry which was polished off so quickly I didn't get to taste it. It looked very good tho. SD is not like Magic Wok used to be - cheap and filling but junk food. (Don't get me wrong - I went often to Magic Wok). SD's food is much higher quality, real ingredients, chunky portions, freshly prepared. I'll be back, for sure.
