sobering stuff, last night

Fairly disgusting attitudes from our players on display, no-one seemed up for it - all the brickbats that can be thrown should be. It was abject

and still, and still I don't get so upset these days. It's a bunch of millionaires running around a field in colourful shirts. It can be fun, it can be nice to watch but when you see what's happening to Portsmouth and Rangers, it's hard to get too upset about lsoing to AC Milan at the San Siro. Or even Sunderland next Saturday

Morning all,

It occured to me this morning that its a year ago today that I damaged my knee playing football. I havently played since and am desperately missing it (as sad as that may seem to some of you.

I was wondering if anyone played 5 or 6 a side or have a kick around locally that I could join in on. I am looking for a semi competitive gamwe to see if I can still kick a ball!

Suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks very much

Sam

One word for last night...............abject............maybe two..........piss poor. And as for spuds, you've won sod all yet. Lets see where they are come the end of the season.

"Eight top English football clubs are being investigated after Rangers Football Club plunged into administration and lifted the lid on an alleged widespread tax dodge.

Fans of the Scottish Premier League giants were furious after it was revealed that the Glasgow club owes up to ?70million to the taxman.

Now the nightmare is spreading to the rest of the sport's elite, as current and former Premier League sides are being investigated over deals thought to be worth hundreds of millions of pounds."

Some names are being mentioned, but the main one it seems is Man U who, if anyone remembers, lent Pompey their legal team to defend the Image Rights issue when we last went into Administration. Something instrumental in getting the clubs tax liability lowered and seeing HMRC losing their right to contest the original CVA.

I think it allows bookies to show odds moving 5/4 to 6/4 to 7/4 in smaller increments with a consistent denominator.

We've been playing champions league football for years prior to this season, so one season out won't kill us, just ask Mancs, Liverpool, ohh and of course your mob. Lets see how you're doing after playing us, Everton, Chavski, and Man Ure in the coming weeks. Might be a case of what gap?

    • Hope all the ‘high streets for people’ events went well! Very short notice probably for people living in the area and on a very hot day!  James McAsh just doesn’t know what to do next with Southwark Council Tax payers money. He advocates the few streets in the area that has a bus service and then shuts the routes down! Very annoying for people who want to go about their daily business and have already had restrictions brought in by McAsh.
    • Thank goodness for Greg. I had an awful situation whereby I was notified that water was leaking from my flat into the flat below me. I was 150 miles away at the time and had a panicked journey home not knowing what I was going to face.   I called Greg (after seeing reviews on the forum) as soon as I arrived home in the evening and he arrived just after 10pm and was able to shut off the problem. He had to come back to finalise the job which turned out to be caused in a communal area whereby there was a blockage in the stack pipe.   Greg worked quickly, efficiently and informed me every step of the way as to what he was doing and why. He also cleaned up really well afterwards.  Greg's charges are very reasonable and he will definitely be my "go-to" if I have any other plumbing issues in the future.
