Couldn't agree more Jah, but according to some you and I share an illness. I believe you've written what many have thought for at least 2 or 3 years

Nope, took mere seconds, but chill out PD, I was having a harmless little joke.

With difficulty I'd imagine, given he is Welsh. Can someone tell me what it feels to be like a thoroughly decent English chap please?

Have made correction JL. Now what exactly are you agreeing with PD?

This whole 'special relationship' we now supposedly have with Madrid has more than a whiff of bullshit about it and seems more an exercise in face saving by brer Levy than any meaningful alliance(I hope). Still, the money garnered has brought in Dembele(not sure about that one)and at least another 10 ?15m plus players in the pipeline including Will.I.Am and the French goaltender Florist. Somebody shut that bloody window, all I can smell are the warm farts of transfer rumour.

I'm afraid they are a defunct species, last spotted inhabiting Ealing comedies, whence 'chap' was quickly usurped by 'twit'...

Well if you read the post I think it becomes clear.

Oh dear if you're that easily moved to tears, may I suggest some form of medication? As for Puliis, Welsh or English, his demeanour clearly suggests that he despises Johnny foreigner, and is a coont to boot. He really suggested that his club and its fans have moved on from the acrimony surrounding the Ramsey broken leg episode. That's why they jeered and booed the lad when he came on. Yep, they've moved on alright Mr. Pullis.

Ok. Maybe I was also alluding to the baggage he carried rather than his unproven management skills at the time, as a reason why he may not last.

Anyway, I think it's going to be hard to qualify his achievements given what has happened to Rangers.

Despite Lennon claiming resources are 'thin', Celtic are miles in front of anyone else in Scotland.

Unless Celtic win the SPL by a cakewalk and pick up at least one cup, can their season be considered a success?

I think the true benchmark will be the CL. Celtic can now concentrate all their efforts on getting out of the CL group stage, without seriously affecting their SPL campaign.

Sorry, but I can't help thinking it's a case of Celtic 'doing well' inspite of Lennon, rather than because of him.

We can't help who is in our league I guess. We have thin resources in European terms, that's for sure. Lennon gets little money to spend, the club is very conservative since Fergus McCann saved the club.

His stated policy of buying players young, cultivating them and selling them on at a profit, is working well so far. He has amassed some gems in Izaguirre and Wanyama, coupled with James Forrest from the youth set up.

Certainly Lennon adds a lot to the club and the team. He is popular with the players and management.

The benchmark will be Europa League. I guess that is where we are at, and to get that you need to finish 3rd in your CL group. If they achieve that then they will be in CL again next year, with a better coefficient hopefully and you build gradually.

Champions League Draw...

Group A: Porto, Dynamo Kiev, Paris St Germain, Dinamo Zagreb.

Group B: Arsenal, Schalke, Olympiakos, Montpellier.

Group C: AC Milan, Zenit St Petersburg, Anderlecht, Malaga.

Group D: Real Madrid, Manchester City, Ajax, Borussia Dortmund.

Group E: Chelsea, Shakhtar Donetsk, Juventus, FC Nordsjaelland.

Group F: Bayern Munich, Valencia, Lille, BATE Borisov.

Group G: Barcelona, Benfica, Spartak Moscow, Celtic.

Group H: Manchester United, Braga, Galatasaray, CFR Cluj.

After Utd's efforts last season, I'm saying nowt.

Although I see the bluenoses have got another easy draw :)...

Sorry BR, just seen this (I don't visit the EDF as in days gone by). Your live stream links are/would be much appreciated; thanks. :)

You obviously suffer from some form of illness you accuse Jah and I of having, you are quick to point a derisory finger at others but you are jaw droppingly dilusional. Scottish teams and European success are strangers to each other, or maybe you just can't accept it.

    • What was he doing on the stage at Glastonbury? Or on the stage at the other concert in Finsbury Park? Grinning like a Cheshire cat whilst pissed and stoned 20 somethings on the promise of free internet sung-- Oh Jeremy Corbyn---  What were his policies for Northern mining towns with no jobs or infrastructure? Free Internet and university places for youngsters. What were his other manifesto pledges? Why all the ambiguity over Brexit?  I didn't like Thatcher, Blair or May or Tony but I respected them as politicians because they stood by what they believed in. I respect all politicians across the board that stick to their principles. Corbyn didn't and its why he got  annihilated at the polls. A socialist, anti imperialist and anti capitalist that said he voted for an imperialist and pro capitalist cabal. He refused to say how he'd vote over and over again until the last knockings. He did so to appease the Islington elite and middle class students he was courting. The same people that were screaming that Brexit was racist. At the same time the EU were holding black and Asian immigrants in refugee camps overseas but not a word on that! Corbyn created and courted a student union protest movement that screamed at and shouted down anyone not on the left . They claimed Starmer and the centre right of labour were tories. He didn't get elected  because he, his movement and policies were unelectable, twice. He turned out not to have the convictions of his politics and died on his own sword.    Reform won't win an election. All the idiots that voted for them to keep out Labour actually enabled Labour. They'll be back voting tory next time.    Farage wouldn't be able to make his millions if he was in power. He's a very devious shyster but I very much doubt he'd actually want the responsibility that governance requires.
    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.
